Has anyone ever heard of a football team playing twice in one day? It wouldn't shock me if it has happend way, way back in the day, before helmets and the like. But I believe this has to be a first in the modern age of football.

Hats off to the Eagles for pulling off what, as far as I can tell, is an unprecedented feat (or at least in modern-day football). And beating the shit out of both teams for that matter. Begs the question-- are the Eagles that good, or was their competition that bad? Edit: Oh, never mind. | #5 Posted on 13.10.05 0118.55 | Instant Rating: 7.73 | Hey, I've lived in St. Paul on and off for the last 25 years, and I've only vaguely heard of Northwestern, so that tells you how big it (and its football program) is.
Pretty awesome story though. My old high school (which is also teeny tiny) has gotten huge write ups in the local papers twice for going 5-0 after an 0-9 season last year. It feels really weird seeing my old biology teacher on the front page of the Sports section. It's nice to have some good news in Minnesota football once in a while.
