I really thought after Tuesday, 2016 was done with us, but I guess not. He warned us this was coming, but it's still sad.

I saw him a few years ago and it was one of the better shows I've ever been to. He had more energy at ~80 than I've ever had, and amazing musicians backing him up. An incredible songwriter and an underrated performer. He'll be missed.

I didn't see him a few years ago, but everyone I know who did tells the same story. He still occupies positions in my "at work" playlist, and yes, he'll be missed. Vale.

I'm ashamed to say I only know him for "Hallelujah" (but what a song). Can anyone recommend more songs by Cohen?

Disclaimer: his 80s stuff really sounds it. Listen to the words. Unless you really like synthesizers, in which case go nuts.

This is off his newest album, which came out this year:

You might know these ones as performed by other artists:

And here are a few more. Someone else would probably have picked entirely different songs.

Upbeat dance-like music isn't really my area of expertise, but two albums that I enjoy which fall under said category would be Daft Punk's "Discovery" and Royksopp's "Melody A.M." - both of which should be relatively easy to find.
