If you just want the songs, you can buy the disc and pay an extra $10 (800 Xbox points) to copy them over to your normal Rock Band game.
As for DLC, you'll be able "to download 'all of the songs in the Rock Band Music Store that have been identified to be suitable for all ages.'"
Like the bastards they are, they added a few songs that I really want (namely, Europe and Spin Doctors). Plus, Lego is great. Is that enough to make me buy the game? No, but it will hit my Xmas list.

I hate the concept of this game. It's just a kind of dumb, ill fitting combo. If they needed to make another Rock Band game, call it Rock Band 3. The Lego thing is really extranious. But I get the feeling they know all too well how much faster numbered sequels wear on people than named sequels.
But....

Is it bad that I'm hoping they'll make limited edition lego figures for this... I want to carry Lego Bowie around in my pocket and claim I'm talking to him when I get caught muttering to myself.

I thought most of the Lego (insert title here) games have been good (with exception of the Star Wars ones for the DS) but this is just...bizarre.
I can see there being a Lego DDR, like with Lego Rock Band it'd probably only have the "family friendly" songs available. Actually, aren't there already Disney and NickJr DDR and karaoke games?

I still don't see how adding the Lego brand changes the Rock Band play. I like that the notes are little legos, but other than that, how is this more than basically just a skin for the game?
I'm glad I don't have my Wii right now... I don't need to own this, but I do...
You believe me, don't you? Please believe what I just said...

Well, as far as I can tell, it doesn't. It now looks Lego-ey, and I believe the easier modes have been simplified (and the tracklist chosen) for family-friendliness.
I'm still on the fence about it. I really want to play Two Princes, The Final Countdown, and Tick Tick Boom, but that's a lot of money for three songs and some cute graphics I won't have time to watch. And I just got DJ Hero and haven't even tried it yet.

You need the secret code, which is going to be unique to each individual instruction booklet. So if you're the first person to rent the game, you might be okay. After that, though, good luck.
Check that - to copy the songs over from Lego Rock Band to Rock Band proper, you need the secret code which is on an insert with the game (not in the instruction book). You enter that code at the Lego Rock Band website, and they give you a separate redemption code, which you can use to download the songs. You also have to pay $10 for the download, and you have to have the disc in the machine while you do it. They take this stuff more seriously than the Guitar Hero people do.
Anyway, I rented the game this weekend, and it's pretty much what you'd expect; Rock Band with cuter graphics and a limited setlist. Whether or not you will enjoy the game depends almost entirely on what your thoughts are regarding the included songs. Some I like, some not so much, pretty much par for the course.
Some of the more advanced features (online multiplayer, support for the Lips mics) are missing, so you'll need to decide if those are important to you.
Ultimately, it's a fun rental, but the game is probably not worth buying for most folks.
Does anyone know anything about No one lives forever 3? The main thing I'm hearing is you play someone working for HARM and Cate Archer has a cameo but isn't one of the main characters. Am I right?
