Jim Gray was paid by Team Lebron and not ESPN Click Here (cnbc.com). I guess that explains the two seperate interview segments. If I were Team Lebron I might want some of that money back since Gray really didn't come off all that slick or smooth.
Stephen A Smith has hurt feelings Click Here (sportsillustrated.cnn.com)
The guy called it, took some heat, back peddled a little, still got it right in the end and he's crying about hurt feelings. I would be gloating. He better get thicker skin if he wants to run his mouth all day and have his own show about whatever.

So...what are we calling this? The Decision? The Abdication? LeGone?

My favorite so far is Quitness.
The Yankees getting Lee and Sabathia is the cherry on the FAIL sundae. (edit - well, maybe that'll happen next year.)

In all fairness, whatever, we did rent C.C. for half a year in Milwaukee, and he got us to the playoffs. He was absolutely BELOVED in Wisconsin for that half a year...
...even though we all had a sinking feeling he wouldn't turn down Yankee money. (Even though the Brewers made a fat offer that never would've seen the light of day during the Selig years.)
Oh, and the burning jersey video? That's from WEWS-TV. I doubt it was staged...something told me they had a photog ready, anticipating that kinda response.
Originally posted by TheBucsFanI also agree with Gilbert that James looked like he didn't really give a shit in most of that series with the Celtics.
I wonder if that second-round dismissal really did get the ball rolling for Lebron's exit from Cleveland, or if he and his Olympic buddies were planning on teaming up no matter what the results of the 2010 playoffs were ...

These all sound like possible Seinfeld episode titles. And yes, I was hoping LeBron would stay in Cleveland, but I don't have as strong of feelings of him going to Miami as most others do.
Have you seen this set they are ready to welcome Lebron inc. at the American Airlines Arena? It looks alot like a WWE set and there is plenty of pyro according to ESPN.
All this talk about "they're gonna need 3 basketballs on the court" would get REALLY hilarious if the latest ESPN-fueled speculation comes true. That is, tonight some of the guys have been suggesting the Heat may look towards Shaquille O'Neal AND Allen Iverson to fill the need for veterans willing to sign for the minimum (or close to it) in order to get in on a supposedly sure thing. My mind cannot even begin to comprehend the sheer awesome insanity that would result from an NBA franchise putting LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Shaquille O'Neal, and Allen Iverson on the court at the same time.

TheOldMan, that nWo thing was absolutely brilliant. And the analogy is perfect: Dwayne Wade, a "smaller" guy who was there first, is Scott Hall. Chris Bosh, a tall guy who Wade helped bring in, is Kevin Nash. And LeBron James, who's become bigger than all of basketball, it seems, is Hollywood Hogan. Kudos, you hit the nail right on the head.
In fact, I even linked this thread to the TV Tropes article on "Face Heel Turn", noting your post. When you see "Face Heel Turn", you see Hogan's picture, and the LeBron/Hogan connection had even been made by a previous TV Tropes user.

- Two future first-round and two second-round picks to the Cavaliers
- Two first-round picks to the Raptors.
I suppose this must show how confident they are that they won't miss the playoffs, no one will get hurt, and they will have all three players for a very long time. Am I mistaken that that is the next four years of first round picks gone?

Can't trade back-to-back first round picks, so if they traded 4 #1's, it would have to be along the lines of '11,'13,'15,'17. You could flip the order of your picks in the other years, but why would a team that could end up in the lottery do that with a team that could be in the playoffs. Not including the Knicks of course.
Although trading LeBron is better than letting him walk away and getting nothing in return, I'm at least a little surprised that the Cavs would be willing to do a sign-and-trade, which helps LeBron financially, after everything that has been done and said.
