Als release troubled Phillips

By BILL BEACON -- Canadian Press

MONTREAL -- The Montreal Alouettes released troubled running back Lawrence Phillips on Thursday.

"Lawrence Phillips did not meet the minimum behavioural standards expected from the Montreal Alouettes Football Club and has been released by the organization," the team said in a brief statement.

OK, so where's left for him now? Montreal's two back-up running backs already signed elsewhere, so this has to be more significant than the club is acknowledging.

It is spring
The playful robin flits through the dawn sky in search of a juicy dew worm
He spies a fat one wedged underneath my windshield wiper
He dives for it even though the truck is hitting sixty miles an hour
A surprsing faux pas for a creature who's smart enough to go south for the winter

Damn, the Gators suck. I don't know what made the Seminoles defense turn it on tonight, but they dominated the Gators. Of course Grossman has been forced out of the pocket all year, so I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. Anyway, I don't care much now.
