Jerry Lawler was actually tolerable on Raw this week! Almost "fine", even. Certainly not problematic. Somebody on the main board mentioned that at one point he even actually called a wrestling move. I could actually pay attention to the matches, without continually being irked. I was both astonished & very, very pleased.
Also, while on the subject of announcers: Did anybody else notice? On last week's Smackdown (9/12), during the women's match, Michael Cole was still talking about the wedding activities.Taz said something to the effect of "OK, Cole, we've got a match to call here." Cole replied, "No disrespect to the ladies..." Cole then briefly finished his thought, then went on to call the match. No wonder I like those guys. | Promote this thread! | | Ana Ng

| #2 Posted on 19.9.02 1205.23 | Yeah, Jerry *was* tolerable. It made me wonder if someone sent him to the corner after last week's show.
And yeah, I noticed that with Cole and Tazz last week! They felt bad about straying from calling THAT match, even though I doubt many people at home cared much. Pretty cool.

| #3 Posted on 19.9.02 2352.57 | At no point do Tazz and Cole bump me out of the match... I find them a pleasant background to what is going on at the time. Tazz especially will do things that even add to what is going on. When he started giggling during the Angle/Billy and Chuck exchange it was great!

| #6 Posted on 24.9.02 1650.37 | | He was doing really well on last week's Raw (before the PPV). During the PPV, he did backslide some during the women's match. Although not to the level of the full-out verbal jizzing that he had been doing. I was quite disappointed in JR about enabling him! Then during last night's Raw, Lawler was back to being pretty reasonable again -- a little distracted, but not too bad. I do hope he keeps working on this -- its so much better when he's not being a total ass. |
