I really like(d) Butler, and I'm not sure why the Lakers were shopping him around in the first place.

I don't see Kwame Brown being the answer in Lakerland. Maybe Phil can get him straightened out, though.

*Still pissed we're losing Butler*

Unless Brown can straighten up and fly right (and I don't think Kobe's a good example for him to live up to), this is a bizarre trade by the Lakers. Good acquisition for the Wiz, though, even if they were only getting Butler. Throw Atkins or George in there, and it's an even better trade. Hey, I'm bilingual! Not really. Atkins doesnt even TRY to play defense (as opposed to maybe trying but still not being very good at it) and we already know how I feel about That Bum Devean George.

He hasnt really given me any new reasons to hate on him (he hasnt given me any reasons to like him either), but I would rather have him retire than keep the Lakers from going for somebody younger while he attempts to pull one last healthy season out of his hat.

Divac Says He Hasn't Made Retirement Decision (latimes.com)
Divac, who played only 15 games last season because of back problems, contested a report from a Belgrade news agency that said he had decided to retire.
"Sept. 30, that's when I'm going to decide what I'm going to do," Divac said Friday.
