i saw this posted on a thread on this forum about kurt angle:

i dont keep up on internet news-rumors anymore, what did kurt say about this? did he say he was leaving in a year or is this just one of those rumors that someone started? please tell me its the second option... and if he is leaving soon, why are they WASTING him as a face? he is the best heel i have ever seen (and no, i have not forget about flair), and if he only has a short run left, thats what he should be doing exclusively.
See, I always thought they were wasting Kurt Angle as a heel. When WrestleMania XIX rolled around, I thought the roles were reversed and that Brock was so much better as a heel and Angle would have been much better as the only guy who could outwrestle Brock.
Angle did his job just fine going into WM and was an awesome heel, as always, but when you're as talented as Kurt Angle is, you can do a whole lot more. Angle could carry SMACKDOWN! on his back if they just lined up the right opponents for him.
Right now, he's definitely not as interesting as a face, but I think that's because there's no strong heels for him to oppose. There's this whole "respect" crap with Brock Lesnar and then there's the Big Show. What needs to happen is Brock needs to go heel again.
I don't know about holding off Brock/Angle II until WrestleMania, which is apparently the rumor. Not unless Brock's a heel and they build up guys like Cena more for Angle to face in the months after that.
In his book he said he wanted to wrestle a few more years with the company and then retire, but remain with the company in a backstage role of some kind.
Shortly before Mania and the surgery it was being reported by Meltzer, Torch, etc., that Angle planned on this being his last year actively wrestling with the company. Even if it's true, knowing professional wrestling, Angle would probably make a return shortly after.
February 1 at Cowboy's in Calgary (where staff breast implants are not only encouragted, but paid for by management) there's a "special tribute" to former Stampede Wrestling announcer Ed Whalen...who passed away recently.
