Mike Informer at PWBTS.com is reporting that Kurt Angle has been arrested for a DUI last Friday. Seems he left a bar and did some "erratic driving" and police found him at home where he failed a field sobriety test . Cannot be good news and PR for TNA headed into their new 2 hour show.

Perhaps you meant "Kurt's a blooming idiot for driving while drunk."

Hopefully you meant that you wouldn't have driven drunk in the first place.

Well, he's an idiot for that too, but to make it home safely and then admit to it..... just dumb.

I'm the last person in the world to advocate drunk driving, but I think you guys might be overblowing this one. Celebrities are arrested for DUI on a seemingly daily basis. As far as PR goes, I think this is relatively insignificant.

Would it be overblowing it had Angle not been so lucky and smashed up another car, killing its occupants?

Thank whomever that Angle merely got a DUI charge and not vehicular homicide.

This, and the above-mentioned frequency of celebrity DUIs reminds me: Can't these multi-millionaires afford a cab ride home??? Or even a limo?

give him a break.it's actually pretty easy to be arrested for dui, as some states actually have hidden zero tolerance policies allowing them to arrest a person even if their bac is under .08. in fact that level alone is actually pretty low and a big person might not even feel impaired at that level. people also get arrested for being affected by prescription meds taken as long ago as the day before.
while i agree driving loaded is bad, the cops are more interested in harrassing you and throwing you in jail to get your money than they are keeping the streets safe.

You certainly don't come across like someone with an agenda!

Regardless, it doesn't look like Angle was one of the tortured innocents to which you refer:

Feeling impaired and being impaired are two different things.

This is beside the point anyway, because the story precludes Angle from being unfairly targeted here. It seems pretty confirmed he was driving erratically and nearly caused an accident. It's going from a moving violation to DUI (and a bigger story) because he failed the field sobriety test.

Multiple posters defending the rights of drunk drivers in this thread seems strange to me. Maybe there's a context where that works, but this is the same Kurt Angle who's been pretty reckless with his health and well being for quite a while now. It's just another dumb choice he made.

Torch says police found him with pills in his mouth, which is also no surprise.

So Kurt says "I spaced when the cops got there -- fear of authority figures. I grabbed a beer right when I got home and pounded it. "

And Chicago Bear Lance Briggs just panicked, and forgot to report that he innocently wrecked his Lamborghini on the Edens expressway about six weeks ago. There's big money in making stuff like this up...

Sounds like "the practice" defense coming into play. Drink before the cops are there or as they show up. Can't prove he was drunk WHILE DRIVING.

What I'm reading is that this woman wasn't hit and there was no property damadge from Kurt's car hitting anything because he DIDN'T hit anything.

It's one woman's alledged sighting and she gives a license plate number from memory.

...and Kurt CONFESSES?!?!

What a dumbass!

I fail to see where any posters, let alone multiple posters, defended the rights of drunk drivers in this thread. Looks to me like everyone who gave an opinion on drunk driving said it was strictly a no-no.

>Police said Angle had pills in his mouth as officers were interviewing him<

Who the heck answers the door with pills in their mouth ? Does Kurt just suck on them like candy instead of swallowing them ?

I am stunned beyond belief that Kurt gets blamed for CONFESSING that he drove while being drunk, instead of.....well, actually DRIVING DRUNK!!! This totally boggles my mind. Isn't it the right thing to admit you made a mistake? Wouldn't denying it make things even worse? Seriously, some of you guys should think about certain values in life.

Well I certainly don't mean to condone driving drunk. I don't know that anyone else here is for it. I think we're all just shocked that he would incriminate himself when it seemed so unnecessary and stupid.

This Four Three Horsemen group is rather impressive. Taking the Megapowers' world title, wife, and having the sidekick of the champ pin Hogan, all while the group is at less than full manpower? Unheard of!
