| #1 Posted on 29.1.02 1530.03 | Kurt Angle on FIRE. He is churning out matches good matches everytime he gets in the ring. Angle has finally found his niche still goofy but not over the top, still crazy but also not over the top. The crowd is giving him an amazing amount of heel heat, not just booing but the harrassing type heat. His selling of the Stunner on Raw was a thing of beauty as was his mocking of Austin after his victory that wasn't. Kurt Angle is on an amazing tear, one that I haven't seen in some time.| Promote this thread! | | jimimium

| #2 Posted on 29.1.02 1624.03 | I will have to agree here.. I've been nothing short of amazed with Kurt Angle the entire time he's been in the WWF, and he may be at his best right now.. he came in and picked up the tools needed to be a top player immediately.. and if he can stay healthy, I think he could stay at this level for years..
The best part of it all though, is that everyone who wrestles him seems to come out of it better for at least a few matches.. he's just that good.. | Loosie

Kurt Angle is definatly my favorite wrestler ever since I came back to the WWF about 2 years ago. IMO, he's the best technical (with Chris Benoit) wrestler today, and his matches are far from boring. That's great in an era of Sports Entertainment! | BigDaddyLoco

| #6 Posted on 29.1.02 2247.50 | Yes, Angle is just simply kicking so much ASS right now. He's finally found his character, and he plays it like no other.
My favorite thing about Angle? When he has someone in the Ankle Lock, he screams “TAP! TAP YOU SONOFABITCH! TAP! TAP!” LOL! I just think it's hilarious how crazy he can be about that.

Plus he takes the Pedigree the best. I still believe EVERY one of his punches land, too, they're that convincing. And the belly-to-belly overhead release...
...damn, Angle rules all.
Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?
A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

| #8 Posted on 30.1.02 0503.11 | Instant Rating: 8.00 | Could not agree more. Angle is fast becoming my favourite wrestler. He's the real total package. I always videotape Raw and he is the one guy whose matches I never fast forward.
Hey, why are the backgrounds all grey now?

| #9 Posted on 30.1.02 0602.56 | Wow, where do I line up for the free Angle merchandise if I support him too.
Kurt has always been one of the best in the ring, and outside. Sure, like every wrestler he has had his little pushes and de-pushes but ever since he arrived he has been kicking ass.
The wrestler Angle has always been amazing. The character Angle was kinda annoying when he was face and locked in the Anklelock after 20 seconds. But that's what all faces do it seems. Other than that, he has always been an amazing performer. Oh damn..now *I* am standing in line for the merchandise as well I guess..

| #10 Posted on 30.1.02 0624.01 | I agree as well. Angle, in his short career, has already completed legendary feats. What's so legendary?
He pinned Steve Austin cleanly.
Plus, his sell of the stunner is beautiful. However, I just like the Rock's sell, where he tumbles around. Then again, everybody's sell of the stunner is nice as compared to when Ahmed Johnson took it (He just fell down, and laid there, looking bored.)
So, WWF, if there was say, God forbid, a comet hitting the earth, or a nuclear holocaust, or chemical or biological attack, or a bomb, or the four horsemen of the Apolycolaspe come. All I have to do to survive is watch the WWF?

| #11 Posted on 30.1.02 0754.07 | We all know Angle may take next year or 2 off for the Olympics. The WWF is going to feel very empty without him. Maybe Eric Angle or Brock Lesner can kinda fill that void if he does leave. Although no one in the world can fill them shoes. It will be hard to make a Olympic comeback like that but if he can take the gold again, I hope he retires. I'll be really sad if he does but happy that he went out on top with no where else to go.
Oh well thats in future, so I'll just enjoy his work now.

| #12 Posted on 30.1.02 0944.32 | For me, Angle has three real strong positives...
(1) In the ring, every single one of his moves (sells or actual suplexes, punches, whatever) looks appropriate. Not always realistic, but always interesting enough to keep you watching and convince you to suspend your disbelief a smidge.
(2) His mic work as a heel - where he's clearly put a lot of effort into thinking through how he can best twist the fans around his little finger. Especially strong in his ability to be funny but still irritate the living hell out of the crowd.
(3) His (from afar) apparent lack of ego, or maybe this would be better described as work ethic. He busts his ass in and out of the ring every time the camera's on him, and if you can believe house show reports - every time the light's on him.
I would argue that no one in the WWF right now has this combination. Austin has (2) and (3), but Angle is, in my opinion, clearly better in the ring.

| #13 Posted on 30.1.02 0950.53 | Like I said in another thread, I wish Angle would use another impact move as an additional finisher. If not the Screwdriver then maybe the Firestarter.
