| #1 Posted on 5.6.06 1052.13 | Instant Rating: 8.78 | HEY let's talk about the stuff what actually aired on the channel yeah
KORGOTH OF BARBARIA: Wow, they're really giving up on having any kind of female audience, aren't they? It was OKAY, but a little schizophrenic. That may just be the nature of being a pilot, though. I'd give it a chance if it's on again. It LOOKED nice, and reminded me of various things I used to read in DRAGON magazine, which is just what they were going for, I'm sure... ;-)
MINORITEAM: I've been catching it on and off - it's....not that great actually. I don't know why I'm still watching it - I guess I keep thinking it'll GET funnier, but it never actually DOES.
MORAL OREL: I've warmed to it, yet I still haven't caught all the "new" episodes. I think they're on the DVR, though.
ROBOT CHICKEN: Seems spottier this season but last season was so good you almost had to expect a sophomore slump. Still pretty good most of the time.
Geez, this lineup's been pretty depressing. Hopefully the new season of VENTURE BROTHERS will shake things up.

Amazon has Venture brothers season #1 and Robot Chicken Season #1 for $39.98 and it qualifies for free shipping. Venture Brothers (The W at Amazon) and scroll to the bottom for the buy both offer. The discount shows up in when you are checking out.
I still haven't decided if I'm picking up Robot Chicken yet, so I haven't ordered this for myself yet.
//edit: Ignore this, I just realized this is not a bargain at all. I thought this was a $$$ off deal but it looks like it is just two things put together. Sorry.

Robot Chicken is still pretty strong, but the other stuff I just don't care for at all. I catch Minoriteam every so often, mostly to check in on Racist Frankenstein, a concept that is funnier than its execution. I never did warm up to Moral Orel, it always strikes me as extremely lazy comedy. Only caught the end of Korgoth the other day, but it didn't do much for me. I'll probably give it another chance though, because barbarian humor just really works for me. | JohnnyHerbs

It has a similar sense of humor/timing, but much more violent, rude and disgusting. The fart jokes reminded me of Ren and Stimpy. I'm glad I stumbled upon it and you should all go out of your way to check it out. | JoshMann

The Robot Chicken DVD is worth it just for the Audio Outtake extra where Donald Faison tries to nail down his Mr. T impression (the auditions to replace Mulder on X-Files" sketch) over multiple takes.

The animation style and the content did remind me of Ren and Stimpy and John K. to a great degree.
Also Robert E. Howard, Frank Frazetta, and of course Heavy Metal seemed like good influences.
It's my understanding that Diedrich Bader is the voice of Korgoth. I'm happy to see he's getting some work after The Drew Carey show ended and he was in some horrible alien movie with Chris Parnell and Tori Spelling. | It's False

Well, he'll always have that bit part in Napoleon Dynamite.
I caught the replay of Korgoth tonight and can I just say that this is the absolute most mindlessly violent and graphically gruesome show I've ever seen? I LOVE IT! Yeah, this could get really old, really fast. But that pilot episode will go down in history, baby!
