I would imagine he's going to help ensure that Divac (and maybe Pollard) are still around at the end of the fourth quarter during playoff games, so it's not really "replacing" so much as "filling a potential hole."
CRZ, the Kings are my favorite team, but seeing as I live on the other side of the country, I'm kind of curious as to whether Bibby was steady all year long or he is being rewarded (and rightly so) for his incredible postseason run. Was he this good (or anywhere near it) during the regular season?
What a Manuever!
Ross During Jeff's Ladder Match, after the KO chairshot: "CLIMB THE LADDER KID, MAKE YOURSELF FAMOUS!" Just awesome.
What did Bibby's status as a restricted free agent mean, exactly? Of course, unrestricted free agents are able to sign and negotiate with any team that wants them (although only their current team can pay them whatever they want without salary cap restrictions), but what are the restrictions upon restricted free agents?
(edited by ekedolphin on 20.8.02 1646) I can't believe it! I just got pinned by a freaking 12-year-old!-- Kurt Angle talking about Rey Mysterio on WWE SmackDown!, 8/9/02

Restricted means another team can make you an offer, but your current team can match that offer if they choose, and you would then have no choice but to re-sign with the current team.
gonna build a giant drill and bore straight into hell releasing ancient demons from their sleep-forever spell so they can walk upon the earth and get recituated and run the diet pill pyramid that MC Pee Pants has created
Speaking of Bibby, did anyone actually see his cameo on "Arli$$"? (Hey, the remote was out of reach.) I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't buy him as a computer expert/semi-hacker.
Bibby and his agent, David Falk, originally sought a deal worth more than $100 million, but the NBA's decreasing salary cap and Bibby's strong desire to stay in Sacramento led to the $80 million arrangement.
You don't hear this every day, a player accepting less than he wants because the team needs him to AND because he wants to stay.
I've always liked Bibby even when he was a Grizzly. Good to see him finally getting the credit he deserves.
