Since I'm in the mood for posting RPG news from IGN (ps2.ign.com) Square Enix has officially announced the sequel to last year's mega cool Live Action Disney RPG. Yeah...I thought they'd "officially" announced it at the end of the last one too.
I'd be interested to know what movies they're doing this time around, as well as if they'll be able to get the same level of voice talent, but it looks like the primary cast is the same:
I forgot to mention it because I hadn't caught that tidbit of news . You got me on that one.
I'm actually a little surprised about this, because I remember a Square interview not too long after the first one came out that said that they were eyeing a 2005 release for KH2, and definately not until they had their hands on PS3 hardware (so they could decide if they wanted to wait until the PS3 debuted to do another Kingdom Hearts).
Hey, I'm still excited to hear that they're making a Genso Suikoden IV (ps2.ign.com) as just about everybody and their mother was reporting that Konami had decided to kill the series after 3 (which ranks easily in my top five PS2 RPGs).
Wisconsin Badgers: 3-1 (The game didn't start off as well as I might have hoped, but whatever. A win's a win.)
Minnesota Vikings: 3-0 (We were out played most of the game and we STILL won. Dare I hope this is actually a good team?)
Yep, I heard this news a while ago from a Final Fantasy board I go to, but that's the first time I saw that picture...thug Mickey is a bit disturbing. I shall be sad if there is no Riku though. But it sure looked like him in the bonus ending. I wonder who that other spikey haired kid is though. And in extra news, I believe that Disney announced that they were making a Kingdom Hearts anime. I'll try to find the link for it...

HA!!!
Actually, I had heard that if the next gen consoles were to be released in 2005, the development kits would have to start going to out by now. I haven't heard anything about that, but I could see Square deciding that rather than waiting for the PS3's launch in 2006, they'll just go ahead and make the sequel now.
I suppose KH3 on the PS3 in 2006 is possible, though.
I fully expect to see Riku back. As for Mickey there, he's clearly trying to disguise, although why as a gangsta, I couldn't guess. Notice that his disguise is the same as the guy on the right in the back. Maybe controllable FF characters?
The extra movie from the original seemed to imply that the characters would be a little more grown up, but I'm not complaining.
I just wish I could knock off the the 3 bosses I couldn't beat (Sephiroth, Agrabah heartless, and the Clocktower heartless)... Maybe it's about time to go back for a 3rd trip through the game.
The GBA Kingdom Hearts will be a direct sequel to the original, and the new PS2 game will take place several years after that. The new boss is some Mummy guy and you may or may not be able to have Mickey in your party this time around. KH2 is expected late 2004/early 2005ish.

Any word on if they've gotten the liscence to include Pixar characters yet?

Not as of yet, thought I'd wonder if they DID get the rights to do it, whether or not they'd be able to get any of the bigger stars to reprise their roles. I'm guessing "not".
Wisconsin Badgers: 4-1 (Good stuff. I'm worried about Davis though. A sprained ankle shouldn't be THIS bad.)
Minnesota Vikings: 4-0 (Poor T.O. Gus Frerotte, Quarterback of the FUTURE!!)
I haven't been able to see close enough on the magazine scans, but I've read some people saying that the blonde kid in the background next to Kairi is the dual keyblade wielder from the 2nd Japanese release (I think it was called "Deep Dive") of KH.
Well if its half as good as the first one it will be well worth $50
I agree with the sentiment, but they're probably going to be hard-pressed to come up with new worlds, as they covered alot of Disney already. The first one was such a blow-away experience, I don't know how they're going to improve on it. Maybe we'll see worlds from the Final Fantasy games (I'm not familiar with what big name games Enix has put out)?
Tom Hanks almost never did Woody's voice outside of the movies. I think his brother did the voice over work for the action figures, video games, and whatnots. Also, they could probably get the guy who does Buzz's voice from the cartoon (he played the live-action Tick and was on Seinfeld). A Toy Story level would be pretty good, though. So would a Lion King stage, if they want to bring Simba back as more than a summon spell. Do you suppose there will be any recurring characters aside from those pictured? I'm thinking that there aren't that many other compelling characters from the Final Fantasy series that weren't in the first Kingdom Hearts.
I saw that site on a GameFAQs thread but couldn't see well enough on the scan to tell anything new. I think those are preview scans for a Jump magazine that's not out yet, so give it a couple weeks and hopefully we'll see better stuff (or even an official release of the promo video).
Edit: Found a link to the promo video here. It's compressed and from a handheld camera, but once you get past the early part with the fading white words, you can see everything else pretty clearly.
Big game for this week is Doki-Doki Universe? In I have actually heard of the game. There's a new Vita game. Gran Turismo 6 came out last Friday, so the reviews showed up this week saying it's incremently better than GT5.
