I totally forgot about this game. I first heard about it about 7 months ago before it was released.
It's a Japanese wrestling game created by Spike who made the Fire Pro Wrestling series. There's two version of the game, the Red version featuring NJPW, AJPW and other traditional feds while the Green version has the newer breed like Zero-One, NOAH, UFO (sorry, no Toryumon as far as I know). Also apparantly a CAW mode that contains thousands of outfits, over 200 entrance themes, and 2000 moves.
As of now it's out on import that is playable on PS2's from Japan or modified PS2's but according to this site, there's a US version coming out as well
Fire Pro Wrestling Z is coming to the PS2 in Japan sometime soon. Famitsu says June -- NCS says June 26th is the ship date, and hinted at a Deluxe version with bonus goodies to come.
If past precedent is a guide, Fire Pro Wrestling Z is coming to unmodded American PS2s on the 12th of Never. (Time to invest in the flip-top mod, perhaps, as this is presumably a single-disc game.)
"You may be wondering why I have been making so many references lately to Fox News. The reason is that it is now my cable news network of choice -- because if Iím going to watch the news and be lied to, I want it to be ridiculously obvious that I am being lied to." -- Center for an Informed America, Newsletter #34
Is there anyone as dorky as me who is religious about updating their Fire Pro characters on GBA? If I see someone has a new costume on this week, I'll update my game within the day. I'm absolutely insane about it. I spent days typing in everyone's real name in the game.
This is the level of obsession this game creates. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let this come stateside.
I, too, bought the Wii Zapper, and I also plan on purchasing MOHH2 but for now all I have is the Link's Crossbow Training game. The Zapper has good weight to it and feels good in your hands and is about as much fun as I expected.
