Sorry: Just ignore this. I found out later that the boxscore on ESPN.com was wrong, and there were actually 29 hits. My mistake.
In the game between the Jets and Broncos, er, Yankees and Rockies Wednesday night, there were 30 runs scored on "only" 21 hits. That is the largest margin I have ever seen between runs scored and safety knocks when there were more runs than hits.
Maybe not so amazing, but I doubt that 9 more runs than hits happens in a game very often.
(edit to admit my screw up)

I am not a has bean! I AM THE BEST WIENER IN ALL THE LAND!
With Sheffield out, Matsui out, Cano out for six weeks or so, Rodriguez not hitting in the clutch at all, this team MAY have won 87 games. Obviously, Morneau had Jeter beat in the two "sexy" statistics, homers and ribbies.
