The Thunder would very much like to avoid a LeBron situation with their own superstar. Kevin Durant's Twitter says that they've reached a deal.
OKLAHOMA CITY — Kevin Durant says he's reached a deal on a five-year contract extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
On his Twitter page Wednesday, Durant said that "God Is Great, me and my family came a long way."
Durant's going to be a major winner someday and this is a nice morale booster for the OKC fanbase. If they're bringing back the same team as last year, I don't doubt they can get farther in the playoffs and maybe even knock off the Lakers this time.
MD: You have to win, no matter what. SC: Why didn't you try that this year?
I think it was a good decision; the team is young and talented. The Thunder who won 50 games as an 8th seed had a competitive 6 game series against eventual champion LA.
If the Thunder down the line ensure other people stay, the Thunder can make some more noise very quickly.
What a huge signing and a load off a young teams mind ... and what a stomach punch to Sonics fans. I grew up one, and I've never had such a weird feeling about such a great player and a fun team to watch, while despising the fact that they are playing in the wrong city.
