A shooting early this morning at Beeler Terrace resulted in the death of a 27-year-old Danville man and the arrest of another city man.
Clarence Cunningham III was pronounced dead at 4:24 a.m. today in the emergency room at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Vermilion County Coroner Peggy Johnson said. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
Danville police spokesman Larry Thomason said a 46-year-old Danville man was arrested two hours after the shooting after he called police. The man, John Clark, the father of N.B.A. player Keon Clark, was booked this afternoon for the murder.
Thomason said police were called to Beeler Terrace around 3:30 a.m. today regarding shots being fired at the apartment complex.
When officers arrived, they found Cunningham lying in the roadway. Cunningham, the apparent victim of a gunshot wound, was treated at the scene by Medix paramedics and then transported to Provena USMC, where he later died.
Around 5:30 a.m. today, John Clark called police and said he would be surrendering in the area of Fairchild and Harmon streets. Police went to the location and arrested him.
As for the motive in the shooting, Thomason said, there are allegations that the victim and suspect had a confrontation earlier in the day.

I think Fab has a point about Pitino. He really sucked the life out of the franchise. Jim O'Brien just goes about business. It helps that Pierce is one of the best in the game, but O'Brien has done a lot with very little besides Pierce.
