He got some decent reactions whenever he popped up on Velocity. Nothing overwhelming, granted, but good considering the infrequency of his use. The "Who Betta?" schtick worked in WCW, but since he came back from injury (he's been healthy for a while [since the "presents for Taker" bits], it's not like he just came back a few months ago) he never got a shot to prove himself. Given a fair chance, he could have gotten over enough to justify a midcard role, either as a single or in a tag.
I wonder what the reaction would have been if Randy Orton was released several months ago? "He's young, he was never given a chance, what was Vince thinking, etc."
Originally posted by VanillaSkyIt's just Kanyon, people! It's not like Eddie Guerrero was just let go. KANYON! He hasn't done anything! He's NEVER been over with the crowd. Sure, the IWC may have liked him in the Postively Kanyon run, but how long ago was that? It was always painfully embarrassing to watch when he'd yell "Who betta than Kanyon?" expecting a response and never getting one.
Ugh, you know the WWE sickens me to no end. Kanyon was an awesome talent. Just he was misused very badly. I hope he can find more success than what the WWE gave him. Oh, VanillaSky I know your entitled to your opinion just as I am but, dude, you go out in front of thousands of people. See if you get over right away with crapy writting and/or appearing once a month or less on national TV. Isn't gonna happen in this day and time.

He was given all kinds of opportunities in WCW and it didn't happen. At least The Cat was over in his WCW days. Kanyon is a good worker, but that's it. There's no charisma or defining feature that sets him apart from the rest.
Originally posted by wordlifeI think what people, at least I, get angry about sometimes is that I am stuck watching what VINCE likes, not us as fans...inept management has killed Disney (they are going to be bought out soon), yes I saw the 8K for WWE and they are doing well (they have good ratios and they have 270 mil in liquid M1) but you keep running with the same idea, which has been proven it doesn't work, and think people will come back has been proven not to work (Disney is the prime example of this)
OSH, I am not too sure of this whole push of Benoit and Guerrero. I have been promised more than once that smaller guys who work great and get good pops (see Y2J, RVD, Booker T) get their chance to move up...then *POW* HHH, one of HHH's pals or one of Vince's favorites destroys them and leaves them for not
Lets see, VInce and Company have 270 MILLION DOLLARS, yet its "proven" that what they put out doesnt work? WHERE IS IT PROVEN? Oh, and I must have missed the press release about DIsney filing bankruptcy and closing down both parks.
Also, you were promised more than once that people who got pops would get pushes? Man, send me that email that Vince and JR sent you! I would LOVE to read that!
And, when you say that you are forced to watch what Vince likes, isnt that a bit extreme as well? Amercian Chopper is on at the same time, I am sure that might interest you. Or something on the other 70 or so channels that basic cable has.
From a storyline standpoint, the only actual wrestlers who would make sense in a rap battle are D-Von and Rikishi, since seeing the likes of Chief Morley come out wouldn't make much sense. Jimmy Korderas, however, would RULE.
