Isn't that the stated purpose of the belt, though?
Personally I think if WWE is going to have 10 championships, they'll do well to make think outside the box in terms of design. And I'm reasonably sure several women were probably included in the design and approval of this belt.
Also, it's just the secondary WWE women's title. This is kind of like getting worked up about the design of the WCW Six-Man title belts.

I probably wouldn't mind the Barbie pink & purple if there were some actual gold to balance it out. And using the standard black leather backing for the big, plastic plates is their biggest missed opportunity of the whole thing.
Not *only* unwearable, but I'm quite sure if somebody tried to, the points at the top would be jabbing her in the boobs the entire time. (As if y'all boys need additional pointers to "see tits here".) Although I suppose the plastic replica ones they hope to sell to all the little girl fans, could be worn as a pre-pubescent bustier by a 5 year-old.

I always like the giant trophy that World Class Championship Wrestling had for their six-man tag title. Though they haven't used the 6-man as much for main events as they did a few years ago, I wouldn't mind the return of a 6-man tag title. Probably would be or more value than the traditional 'Australian Rules' tag title are now. | CEOIII

Really? Is this belt intended to appeal to or draw in women viewers? Or is it designed to play into or reinforce male viewer's attitudes as to what the "Divas" are?

Looks to me, first & foremost, like a piece of merch to sell to little girl "fans". Consider how often you've seen a "Diva in training" sign in the audience. And, y'know, in fact, (parenthetically, ahem.), I'm truly completely OK with that whole concept. In among the bimbettes, there is a faint thread of competent, strong, self-sufficient women wrestlers. Victoria. Beth. Natalia. Melina. I'll give props to Michelle McCool for her progress from the bimbette-est beginnings. And, y'know, if dad's watching wrestling, & his daughter wanders in & wants to take an interest in what daddy's watching, that's actually a kinda cool opportunity for dad to bond. Dad may not be terribly comfortable with random princess-merch, but maybe he can get his head around "my daughter the diva". And hopefully, "My daughter's not going to be one of those stripper-bimbos." If dad's any good at all, to chat casually with his daughter about "what kind of grown-up woman do you want to be?"
Women viewers? No. Kid audience -- I'm pretty sure that's a big market!

When my wife watches wrestling, the first thing she always notices is how gaudy and fake the women are (and many of the men too, for that matter). I suppose that this title very much reflects those whom it is glorifying.
Also, Emma's right, where's the gold? It needs SOME, if even just some highlights around the pink rhinestones and such or in the background on the sides...
Side note: Wow are we really up to 10 titles? It wasn't that long ago that we were down to 3 or 4...

I agree with Emma - this is definitely aimed for the under-10 girl set, the major targets of the Disney Princess line.
As for no gold - from a purely aesthetic viewpoint, silver matches better with the pink and purple than gold would. As a result: no gold.
I would also have gone with a pastel leather instead of the black - again, to match up better with the pink and purple of the belt plates. A light aqua - or, to further reinforce the point, pink - leather would be nice.
Now that I've completely offended your sensibilities, I'll be quiet.
Steph
