Right here! *raises hand* Not so much the first season though, but I still watch it. Better than Trek, in my opinion. I've never been a trekkie, and Babylon 5 is just sooo well done, especially seasons 3 and 4.

*raises hand* I'm so tempted to score that Season 2 set. Even tho I'm a heck of a lot kinder to season 1 than most, Season 2 is when it kicked into high gear and never looked back . . .

. . .well, until Season 5 anyways. I wonder if they'll just GIVE that set away. Even free it would be too expensive to justify.

I too love the show. Yet, since I got fired yesterday, I will not be getting it. Luckly my roomate is getting it, so I will watch the features and wait to I get my first paycheck from new job that I start Monday. Its amazing that I get fired and ten minutes later and a phone call and I am working again. I just hate both jobs, oh well bills to pay.

Hey, you kid leave Season 5 alone. Season 5 had a rough start with Capt. Bitch Lochley on and those damn hippie telepaths. Once you got past that storyline the Fall of the Centauri is just incrediable. The last episode alone is worth it. I still tear up when I see it.

A Fan- The best sci-fi show of the modern era.

"Sleeping in Light" Yes, it's good. So is "The Fall of Centauri Prime." 2 episodes out of 22. NOT a good average. I think Season 5 was the victim of Babylon 5's 11th hour repreive, since JMS had pretty much tied up everything with a bow in S4.

Alas he kept on, and the burnout was pretty visible. There's a LOT of wasted time in Season 5. There and on "Crusade," which is kinda a shame, since the last 2 episodes of "Crusade" (at least from the scripts) had the old B5 magic. Musta been because they gave the Drakh a pass and went back to the REAL bad guys.

And you think liking Season 5 is a bold stand. Try being the world's sole "Crusade" fan.

Hey, there is nothing wrong with Crusade. I enjoyed it, it just gave me another reason to hate TNT. The other being WCW. Season 5 had more than two good episodes, Day of the Dead, And all my Dreams Torn Asunder plus the entire Centauri arc was great as was them putting together the alliance. I liked the first few episdes, because they were character interactions and started to hint about the raids, but nothing major. I didn't like this seaon next to 2-4, but it was on the same par with one. Season One was a mixed bag of really good to really crappy.

A Fan- I'm shocked there is even one B5 fan at this place.

My only beef with the Centauri arc is taht everyone became incredibly stupid when the season flipped--I find it hard to beleive that after seeing what Earth did (and was still doing) with Shadow tech and the threat of the Drakh they just kinda forgot about it.

But even with those problems, the Centauri arc was the highlight of the season. It was damn cool to see Sheridan finally lose it and go off on the whole Alliance.

2 reasons i hated season 5

1) they blew their load on the end of the war, it was a good stopping point, and it seemed anti-climatic the way they were setting up the spin-off shows

2) Claudia was fired.

I am one of her biggest fans, and those 2 reasons were enough not to watch all the shows. i did see some loose ends tie up, but it wasn't enough to keep me interested.

now, seasons 3 + 4 had me hooked, almost in an Evangelion kind of way (and if any of you eva fans haven't seen End of Eva yet, get it now. i saw it 2 days ago and i'm still in shock.)

Season One was better than most people give it credit for. Sure, it lacked polish, and pretty much the whole season was foreshadowing, but it was solid enough. Season Two onward, however, is where the show became brilliant.

I'm a trekkie, too. I still haven't decided if I like B5 more than DS9. Both did an awesome job with long-running arcs.

End of Evangelion was a pretty mean mindfuck. Not sure if I completely understand it yet... why do Gainax endings always do that to me? Maybe years of Ranma 1/2 have turned my brain to jelly.

Edit: A question to fellow B5 fans... was the departure of Lt. Commander Takeshima from the pilot "The Gathering" ever explained on the show? They delt wih Dr. Kyle and even (shudder) Carolyn, but not the sexy C&C commander.

It was never explained on the show. According to JMS, she was reassigned out to the Rim.

I can never watch the pilot without seeing her in "The Karate Kid Part II."

Mmmm... Ashley Judd. The perfect woman. 1) Absolutely gorgeous. 2) Loves UK basketball. 3) Was on Star Trek. What more can you ask for?

I just wanted to say that my dad and I used to watch the show religiously. It was the only show he and I both watched (outside of sports, and apparently Buffy which I never knew until my aunt and I started discussing it at Thanksgiving).

That's really it, as I really have nothing further to add, except that I'm a Babylon 5 fan.

I don't think they ever did. The plan however, was for her to be the inside woman for the assasination plot on Kosh in "The Gathering."

According to the CCG of Babylon 5, yes I am this much of a dork on the show that I played the card game. She was sent in from Psi Corp to take out Kosh. When the season starts they make mention of having trouble with the last CO, but thats about it. It makes no sense though since the entire plan came from the Narns to kill Kosh, but I never rule out Psi Corp as an out on that show.

Ah yes. The Psi Corps. All the moral fiber of Jack The Ripper.

Without them we would have had no idea Chekov was so fucking EVIL.
