... I remember buying an ESPN Baseball preview mag in '96 where they said we would be calling this particular time period "The Griffey Era" in Baseball. Now, I know full well the hyperbolic tendencies of ESPN, but at the time, I didn't know of anyone who disagreed with that proclamation. It's been an unbelievable turn of events for Ken since he left Seattle.

In the first inning of the Reds' 9-4 victory over the Marlins today, outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. became the sixth person to hit 600 home runs in his career, joining Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willy Mays and Sammy Sosa. Congratulations to him!
