... I remember buying an ESPN Baseball preview mag in '96 where they said we would be calling this particular time period "The Griffey Era" in Baseball. Now, I know full well the hyperbolic tendencies of ESPN, but at the time, I didn't know of anyone who disagreed with that proclamation. I'm not surprised it was lopsided. Given that their numbers were so close, the fact that Votto's team made the playoffs was decisive, especially given that Pujols' team was probably more talented. Also, Pujols has won before.
