I hope we get to see Shawn Michaels while we are in San Antonio. I am a big believer that HBK can still contribute in a significant way to our programs. Nothing is etched in stone, but I can sure see Michaels as a viable part of one of our primary broadcasts after the rosters split in two. His verbal skills are unaffected due to his back injury and -- who knows? -- maybe HBK can still be physical in the proper environment.
Well, thanks, JR. I know we can always count on Jim Ross not to make any "cryptic remarks." 'Tis a shameless ratings-grabbing ploy, I say! Fie on you, JR.

JR didnt promise anything. He said nothing was etched in stone. He said I HOPE to see Shawn Micheals in San Antonio. Maybe Shawn showed up "in no condition to perform" again. Who knows? Im sure that if Shawn Micheals wants to be on WWF tv again all he has to do is pick up the phone. So dont blame JR, blame Shawn.
Good point. I'll have to reconsider my soul-consuming hatred of that old Okie now.
I wasn't really mad, dude. It's just worth noting. You think JR put that in there just to share it with us, because he needed to get it off his chest? It is called the Ross Report, not the Ross Musings.

well i hope he's there.... i dont care what kind of capacity.. i want him back out there.... and JR is just doing it to get more curious fans to watch.
I do agree J.R. hinted towards Shawn beind there, but no one knows what the circumstances were. I just wished they wouldn't tease this stuff. Every other week, it seems Shawn or Shamrock is coming back on the internet. Just let it be.
If Shawn wasn't there, last night, then I don't think he's going to be on for awhile. Well, my fantasy booking idea is dead for WM. Anyone got any other ideas for how WM will end now?
If the end of Smackdown is any indication of how Wrestlemania will turn out...it will end at 9:50 and we'll have to watch Stone Cold and Rock drop beers and do nothing for 10 minutes while we wait for something good to happen while Michael Cole shrieks like Stephanie McMahon and then fade to black.
What the hell was that about? Who the frig orchestrated that complete lack of timing? I was sitting there...okay, there's still 5 minutes--Rock drops a beer, drops a beer, drops a beer--is someone coming out? Rock drops a beer, Stone Cold drops a beer, Rock drops a beer...3 minutes left---something's about to happen. Rock climbs the ropes, sips beer like a complete puss, Stone Cold pours beer on himself, nothing, nothing, nothing...1 minute left--still got to be something...Rock staring, Stone Cold staring.....credits?!?!?!

That was kind of hosed. I was sure Micheals was going to come out or something. Maybe something happened in the back and they had to scramble. It seems like everytime they do Smackdown live they have glitches. I guess they wanted to make sure they finished before 10 EST because UPN doenst give them an overrun like TNN does. But they misjudged the timing a little.
I was wondering about that too. Usually that's something they do after the show goes off the air. The only thing I can think of was that the nWo came down too early or that they simply didn't account for the time, and were left to have Rock and Austin chug beer for five minutes to kill the rest of the time.
Either way it was a rather dull Smackdown, continuing the trend of half-hearted shows that the WWF has been putting out recently. Pretty horrible build-up to Wrestlemania so far, they're going to have to pull a miracle next week if they want to get a good buyrate for Wrestlemania (and since it's WM, the bar is higher then other PPV's).
I'm pretty sure that Smackdown was supposed to end after Austin got Nash with that second chairshot, but the timing was WAY misjudged. Probably they told Austin to run-in early, and they didn't have enough to fill.
As for Ross, he said "I hope we get to see Shawn Michaels while we are in San Antonio", the big question is, what did he mean by "we"? If you're assuming by "we" he meant "us", then I think you're probably wrong. I think that when he said "we" he meant WWF Office Staff.
I think that it's a simple case of misreading the intent. He didn't SAY that HBK'd be on TV, he just said that he hoped Shawn would stop by while they wre in San Antonio.
The only thing...and I mean *THE ONLY THING* that could have made the end of Smackdown both worse and the most hilarious of all time would have been as the 10 minute mark of inaction passed...Rock had dropped his 15th beer, they had climbed the ropes to drink, climbed down to stand around, stare at each other, climb back up the ropes, stare around, pour the beers--and bore me to death, would have been if as the credits flashed, Michael Cole had inexplicably uttered the immortally frantic words of Tony Schiavone and said, "Fans, we're out of time...."

He's had those for some time now. I saw him wearing them in New Japan, and he may have in ECW.
Edit: Oh yeah. And about Michaels returning. Remember, Bret Hart was not going to be announced as the special referee. At least, that's what I read. Maybe they're doing the same with Michaels. I don't know why I am making all these scenarios up for his return, as I was never that big of a fan of his. Oh well.

That is still a kickass idea though. I mean if they were going to turn him nWo, then if he was the ref and he screws Hunter to get there then I'd be a happy camper. The twin things of Y2J retaining and Michaels returning permanently would just about make Mania for me.
