I need some help from the denizens of the W: I have taped this show from Monday night and wondering if anybody watched Journeyman this week. Is it worth watching? Will I get hooked immediately or should I just shut the TV off on Mondays once Heroes is done?

CRZ had to edit my profile and close my table for me before, but I did this one all by myself with Frosty's help! |

That is, the first 20ish minutes were kind of slow, as was the case with the BD pilot, and I'm afraid that will kill most people's interest. I stuck it out though and I will definitely be tuning in next week. I especially enjoyed the fact that there was payoff to one of the storylines from the pilot ALREADY.

* Speaking of the Black Donnelleys, I hear that it's been picked up by Mark Cuban's HDNet. Is that right? Like, new episodes?? | Deputy Marshall

I thought it was fucking great. Everything was done very well, it has a terrific cast, it took its time establishing all the relationships and letting you know everything you need to know, and the episode's ending (while predictable) was a wonderful moment. I was really worried it was going to be at best a Quantum Leap rip-off and at worst just another schlockfest released due to renewed interest in the sci-fi/fantasy genres, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that was far from the case.
So yes, I'm hopeful for the show, and I definitely think you should go out of your way to watch the premiere.

Nope, they've been airing the existing episodes on HDNet for a while now. Now that the DVD is out, it seems kinda pointless, but I guess they can only air "Robbery Homicide Division" so many times a week. ;-)

I do agree it started slow, but really picked up towards the end with his dead girlfriend showing up as another time-traveler (I guess). The final scene of Dan taking apart the patio to prove things to his wife nailed it for me.
Of course, my liking this show is its Kiss of Death, and I'll probably be kicking my couch again when it's cancelled by November sweeps. |
