| #1 Posted on 17.11.02 0756.17 | Last night, I happened to catch Josh Matthews hosting the Bottom Line (Raw Recap) I was too busy watching Confidential and SNL to see how he was doing. I wonder if he's a permanent host or if it's just a one-time deal.

Haha, Maven and Nowinski both got real contracts, meaning that Matthews is the only TE1 finalist who isn't wrestling. Talk about getting hosed (maybe it's just punishment for being on TNA once or twice a few months ago). | Divakind

| #3 Posted on 17.11.02 1322.01 | Saw that too (it was one of those Saturday nights when the weather was too crappy to go out, so I watched WWE programming from 9 until 2 this morning; yes, I am a glutton for punishment, why do you ask?). Josh said at the beginning that he was just filling in for Coach this week.
There was a lot of negative reaction to him when he first started a couple of months back, but at least he didn't have me scrambling for the mute button like I do every Sunday night at 7:00 PM. Not too shabby an effort at all.
Hey, here's a "business synergy" idea. They do a TE3 replay right before Heat airs, ratings for BOTH shows are down, so why not put Josh on Heat for the duration of TE3's run? Be a good opportunity to create some interesting interaction between him and Coach, especially since during one of his comments on Bottom Line, he said "we were the innovators" (re: the original cast of Tough Enough).
Could be made into a workable situation, because let's face it, our current color commentator damn sure hasn't popped the ratings for 'em.

well from what i have read/heard, mathews decided himself that he would rather get into the production side of things, because there was more of a chance for him to excel at it and become recognized than being known as "the other tough enough loser" as a wrestler.
i haven't seen any of his matches, though, so i can't tell if he's any good at them.. but he must have really sucked if he's a better announcer. "what's poppin', canada?" UGH! the coach must have taught him the hand gestures, too, as they both have the exact same mannerisms, which is the most entertaining thing about watching him shill.

| #5 Posted on 17.11.02 1356.36 | I like Josh. I truly hoped he would win TE1, but I knew he was toast the minute he had that stupid segment with his girlfriend.

Heh, he used to say "what's crackin', Canada?" before that. I'm not sure if "what's poppin'?" is an improvement or not. | InVerse

| #7 Posted on 17.11.02 2315.12 | | Bottom Line is on at about 3pm on Saturday afternoon here. I caught a bit of it and was wondering to myself who the crappy host was during a voice over of some type. Then he came on camera and I recognized him. Not the worst, by far, but definitely on the poor side of average. | DarrylTheHitman
