Watching the last couple of Smackdowns I have noticed Josh finally start giving back what he gets . But I wondered why now? And it wasnt till I heard that Josh was a finalist in the first Tough Enough contest. Is Josh Matthews been showcased now to keep the TE guys going when they see that even a skinny no meat finalist can make it to primetime? To be honest how many of the remaining 6 will make it? Dan Rodimer looks to have what it takes..but do the others?
It will be interesting to see how long Josh wrestles for and if he goes past Sundays Survivor series as a foil for Booker T

I'd say that Josh was easily the most talented and natural wrestler out of all the Tough Enough 1 guys but he's smaller then Spike Dudley.
I'd say the second best was Chris Nowinski and who knows if he'll ever get into the ring again.
Certainly all the contestants this year are in good shape but look at how much people thought that Jake should've won TE2 just based on his look.
Personally the only ones who look like they belong in the ring are Justice Smith and Daniel Puder. Puder's background means that he probably has a high pain tolerance while Justice Smith has the look and charisma. The others look like they're trying to hard, especially Rodimer.

What was so infamous about those tapings? All I've heard about XWF is that it's mostly bloody garbage matches populated by ECW cast-offs and porn stars. Never heard anything about Josh and XWF, though. | Nenz

You're thinking of XPW, Rob Black's promotion. Josh was in the XWF which was run by Jimmy Hart.

Having watched TE over the years, I did like Josh on the program. In fact, I would say that the people who make it to the final five of TE1 were people really wanting to do something in wrestling, so I had no problem seeing Josh doing interviews, and if they can do some gimmick matches with him occasionally on Smackdown, so be it.
I've always thought Puder had something going for him, from the first episode where he blew his promo, but managed to pick up a girl on the beach and still make it to the final eight all in the same day. Not too shabby there. I agree with fuelinjected that Justice seems to have a presence that would work well. I think Rodimer has a chance, but he's trying too hard to be HHH, Jr.
Anyone else notice how pissed how Nawrocki got Torrie during the segment by yanking the microphone out of her hands? Then when The Miz went off-script as well, Torri's friendly attitude turned instantly into "screw it, I'll let Dawn handle them." Funny stuff. | thecubsfan

Shane appealed to people for the same reasons, but he won't have to deal with the cries of "nepotism"...just "you TE kids didn't pay your dues!"
