Sounds about right. As long as he's not doing it to the degree that he risks being arrested at possession amounts, I don't see why it should matter. Even allowing that offseason testing of substances occur, this seems pretty low on the priority list.

Given how his play has deteriorated over the second half of the year and (hopefully) hit rock bottom in the playoffs, I'm thinking the timing of this announcement is pretty poor. Maybe he was high when he said it.
And, it's not just poor shooting and crummy defense, it's also his inability to even catch the ball and complete lack of intelligence on the basketball court. If he's not high during the games, then maybe he should try it. He certainly wouldn't be any worse. I can't believe he was an All Star last year and almost made the team this year, plus he should be in his absolute prime.
Getting back to Byron Scott and the Hornets...the Hornets were impressed with Tim Floyd, so I wouldn't exactly call it a ringing endorsement. Plus, with the attendance situation down there, I wouldn't exactly buy for the long-term in New Orelans.
