This links to TMZ but the link was really long and looked stupid.
Anyway, John Cena has granted 30 kids wishes, through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and has gotten them all into Wrestlemania this year. On top of that, the children get a private autograph session with a bunch of WWE stars AND a private pizza party hosted by John Cena.
It also seems that John Cena has granted over 200 wishes for children and is getting some award for this. Only three other celebrities have reached this number and one of those was Hulk Hogan. The snark in me want's to say he is just trying to beat Hogan, but I'm fighting that urge pretty well.
Yeah, I made that title purposely misleading cause I thought it was funny.

In fact, Hogan even said in his speech at Bash at the Beach '96, "I did everything for the charities. I did everything for the kids! And [after] the reaction I got here tonight? You fans can stick it, brother!"
So never say never.
However, I don't think WWE's courageous/crazy enough to do this.

I'd wager most of Hogan's charity work was done when he was WWF Champion. the NWO was 5 or so years after the peak of Hulkamania (if you consider losing to Warrior as beginning of the downturn).
I just can't see Cena, the face of the PG WWE product, becoming a heel anytime soon, unless it was as some sort of tweener who stays loyal to the kids and a heel to everyone else. Like how Lawler was a face in Memphis and a heel everywhere else.

Out of curiosity, from where do you cut & paste the bulk of your posts? It would be nice to have a collection of generic, repeatedly reused, battle proven comments any time I feel the need to respond to a thread but my mind has run blank to original thought.

...which will never happen. Whenever his shirts start slowing down, another comes out. Rinse and repeat.
I don't know if I'd say it will never happen; but yes, it seems like every new shirt sells as well as the last. Lately all they've had to do is change the colors.
Considering how young some of his fanbase is (as young as 5 from what I've seen in the audience); they could target those kids and have devoted Cena fans with money to burn for years to come.
Cena cuts effective, crowd-pleasing promos in an era where there aren't many faces who can (or are allowed to?) do that. We might be bored with him, but the fans aren't. And if they ever are; all the WWE has to do is tweak his character a bit to renew interest. You don't need a full heel turn to do that.
