If they do Taker/Barrett at Mania, it really hurts Barrett to have him job to UT in a couple of minutes. I'd rather have a total one-off opponent for Taker...like, some old legend who can talk (Piper?) wanting to have one last epic Mania moment for themselves. Or, WWE throws a bunch of money at Sting and he comes in to 'win one for WCW' in Atlanta by having him challenge UT's streak. Or, UT is in a tag match, so the drama is if Taker will lose his streak without actually being pinned or submitted himself.

But anyway, this is off-topic. I'd be stunned if Cena isn't able for Wrestlemania. Heck, I'd be surprised if he even misses the Rumble, given this guy's work ethic. They would just have him make a Rumble cameo in the #30 spot or something, or create the Michaels/Jericho early elimination from 2003 to generate some mega-heat on Punk or whomever tosses John early.

If Cena is hurt for a while.... he's been pulled off the 4 way steel cage match for the baltimore tonight... they can go two ways.

1) Ignore the house show and just say Cena got taken out by Punk and Nexus on Monday. This would make Orton #1 face in the company for a while.

2) Promote the house show saying Barrett took out Cena, the Barrett opens Raw saying he did the job without Nexus and doesn't need them... followed by a beating by Punk and Nexus, turning Barrett face.

If Cena isn't hurt for a long period of time, they can just work him in the Punk story angle without him wrestling.

I can't see how they can build Barrett to be a credible opponent to Undertaker..... It either has to be Cena or Brock Lesnar.

Can't see Brock doing it. Everyone is writing off his UFC career cause he lost one match. That's way early for him to give up on MMA and Dana White won't let him near a WWE ring until he's done.

UT will barely even be able to wrestle this year if he does at all so it's just to have him there and pad 19-0 then hopefully have him healthy for a megamatch with Cena next year. So they could feed Kane to him, but Barrett's a way better investment for the future and even if he loses he gains something just by being part of the list and interacting with Taker and possible referee Michaels.

Why is there an automatic assumption Undertaker will be in a singles match? He's really hurt and they did a tag match WrestleMania 2000. Pick a guy for him to face next year, have him team with Taker this year and just try not to forget the plan.

By WM, he'll probably be teaming with Kane again.

...before Kane screws him over for the ten millionth time.

Anyhow, concerning Cena...I really don't like him. If he's injured and takes time off...I'm happy. I know that probably makes me a bad man, but I don't care. I'm repulsed by every appearance he makes on TV. I haven't felt that way since HHH's heyday.

Barrett has led the biggest heel faction in the company for the last six months and played a key role in Undertaker getting buried alive in the first place, so he's certainly a credible opponent. Hell, I think Barrett is such a good prospect that I wouldn't be outraged if he actually broke the streak and got that mega-rub. BUT, let's be honest, the streak won't get broken by anyone, nor should it.

Really? I'd be kinda pissed if Barrett did it. I'd have been pissed if Brock Lesnar had done it in his first year, even though he was booked like a monster even faster and harder than Goldberg.

I wouldn't be surprised if 'Taker/Barrett took place at WrestleMania XXVII, assuming 'Taker can make it back in time. Barrett will make it 19-0. And then for 20-0 you really can't go with anyone but Cena. Cena/'Taker at WrestleMania has to happen eventually.

Ross also stated that he was "day by day" and speculated that, knowing Cena, it was unlikely to be very many days. So all of this speculation is moot.

As for putting Undertaker in a tag match, that won't work. He gets a point for every opponent he defeats, remember? So if he wins a tag match, that puts him at 20-0 already, screwing up the big Cena match for the next year.

Alternatively.... Undertaker is obviously going to be looking for revenge on The Nexus. If he faces all of them (minus either Barrett or Otunga, either of which could easily be removed from the storyline) then that would put him at 24-0, making the big Cena match 25-0.

But do people actually expect 'Taker to face anyone *but* Kane at Wrestlemania? Unless he comes back in time to pay off that storyline prior to Wrestlemania, 'Taker is going to look stupid if he's going after someone other than Kane. And Kane is someone he could have a pretty simple match against whom he trusts not to injure him.

I really hope they wouldn't start the Goldberg-inflations with Undertaker taking out 10 guys in a battle royal and them saying "29-0!!!!" It seems like the quickest way to make the streak cheap and pointless, and Taker's streak is something McMahon's said he's very protective of.

I think it's pretty safe to say he'll be feuding with Kane. It's a feud that's already set up and going. A couple special effects for a few weeks, lights go out, video taped messages, and then have him return at WM even. Anyone else, and you need to have him come back and finish with Kane just to start fighting with someone else. That's probably too much to ask while he's still recovering.

Everyone remembers that Taker won a handicap match at WM19 which counted for 1 win, right?

As this is the first WrestleMania I've ever had tickets for, I feel they should obviously cater the 'Taker match to my desires and needs. Therefore, I'd like them to NOT do Cena/Taker, but instead go for Barrett/Taker. And if they want to put Barrett over, hell, that's okay by me, too.

What I DON'T want, is Orton to take out Punk at Mania. Because Orton's so devoid of personality it hurts me to the soul, but we're getting completely off-topic there.

WWE once again shows a lot of class. People in Baltimore and in Washington are being offered full refunds because of Cena not being able to perform. Somehow, I get the feeling that few will choose to do so.

And yup, Miz is still champ, he beat Randy Orton in Baltimore last night. But can the Miz beat Orton again in Washington tonight????

This would actually be a fun way to set up a cocky heel challenging Undertaker at WM. Like, Swagger beat nine guys in the MITB last year, so he could go around boasting that he's 9-0 at Wrestlemania and wants a shot at Taker's streak. UT shows up to beat him and the Eagle at Wrestlemania and that's that.

The scene cuts to La Parka, El Dandy, Ciclope, Psychosis, Juventud Guerrera and Hector Garza having a pretty decent opening-match six-man lucha libre contest.

Sid Vicious comes in holding a sign that says "MAN OF THE MILLENIUM [sic] 105-0", powerbombs all of them, and pins them each individually.

Then he holds up a sign that says "MAN OF THE MILLENIUM 111-0", and proceeds to cut a three-minute-long rambling promo in which he accidentally insults himself once or twice.

Punk vs. Taker would seem to close the most loops if Cena is unavailable for a big match at WM. Taker took his belt, so Punk wants to take his streak. He sends Nexus to help bury Undertaker alive because he can't/won't do it himself with Kane there. He can still be the Raw GM and explain that he traded himself to Raw because he (mistakenly) thought it would prevent the Undertaker from coming after him when he found out. He can claim that UT is "addicted to winning". And it gives Taker a smaller guy who can carry the load in a match, with room for Undertaker to beat up Husky Harris and thrown Heath Slater off the roof through a table or whatever Slater would be up for.
