| #2 Posted on 1.8.05 1350.03 | Instant Rating: 1.95 | Losing Q wasn't big at all for them (watch as he plays the entire playoffs with two hands firmly gripping his throat), but Johnson was very very important to their ability to play consistently at the breakneck pace they liked to. Unless Amare continues to improve at an amazing clip, this loss is going to hurt them a lot.

Now Joe Johnson will join Al Harrington, who last year was all, "Waaaah, I wanna start, trade me!" "OK," said Donnie Walsh, and send him to what turned out to be the league's worst team. What is it with players who think money and a spot in the starting lineup for a horrendous team is better than a sixth-man role for a potential World Champion team? It just boggles my mind.

| #5 Posted on 3.8.05 1640.42 | Instant Rating: 5.00 | He had been starting in Phoenix. Their usual starting lineup was Nash, JJ, Q, Marion and Amare. Based on the local analysis here, it is a split opinion.
Johnson was insulted when the Suns wouldn't give him a 6 year $50 million deal before last year, and he seems to have issues with Amare and only being the "4th" option on the Suns.
Sarver is being vilified for breaking up a young team contending for the title to avoid the luxury tax.
I agree that Q did nothing in the playoffs, and that adding Thomas will help us (maybe not in the regular season, but definitely in the playoffs).
They signed Raja Bell to add depth, and still have Jimmy Jackson, so they will slip some. The biggest thing they got in the deal with Atlanta that seems to slip past people is the $4.9 million trade exception. I would look for them to pick up someone during the season for one of those first round picks that will help further cushion the loss. | Juggalo101

Living in Atlanta, nothing boggles my mind more than the moves the Hawks continue to make year after year. 70 million for Joe Johnson, huh? AOL/Time Warner ruined this team years ago...
