Anybody noticed that for weeks now Ross reports that Jericho is close to signing a new contract?

Anybody figured that Jericho doing so many jobs has to do with him not signing yet?

Edit: Let me add btw that this is meant as a counter to all the 'They are keeping Jericho down by making him job' stories.
I do not deny any glass ceiling but try to counter the lowering of the glass ceiling so to speak

That does sound likely as Foley mentioned something similar in Have A Nice Day.

I'd thought I read somewhere that he signed an extension, along with the Hardys...Hardyz.

And I believe the Dudleys as well. Oh great, a few more years of D'von jobbing and Bubba thinking he's Dusty Rhodes. Oh no, maybe they'll have Bubba remove his shirt to reveal splotch.

Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.

Yeaaahh...D-Von needs..something. I know not what. This reverend thingy isn't going anywhere. Maybe he needs to get sleazier, play off the real-life heat the Catholic church has been getting... not that I would approve of such a direction change, but it'd get him over as a heel at the very least.

Yes, both hardys and dudleys recently signed new contracts.
Jericho I believe was negotiating about his contract for a while already..

Oh..D-Von hasn't won in a bit, lost all of his matches and now suddenly he wins again? Hmm...

Yeah, now that he's not with Batista, let him come out with a ring boy. Or... hey, I think we've finally found a reason for Crash Holly to be used on smackdown.

This Thursday night, we should see something happen with D'Von to further his heel character.

Edit(if you really care):

Back on topic: Jericho is not bothered about jobbing for the past few weeks. After all, he is one of the top stars and gets to enjoy his hobby of being a rock star. He is the latest person to break into the mainstream.

I wouldn't exactly call being the lead singer of a little-known rock band "breaking into the mainstream."

And judging by their performance on RAW, I wouldn't expect Fozzy to get a lot of booking offers.

Found this in a Google search on the topic:

"July 28, 2002

The following news is derived from Wade Keller and the Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter:

As reported earlier, Chris Jericho has re-signed with WWE. Jericho is the biggest name whose contract has run out since the acquisition of WCW which leads many to believe he is the first victim of signing a deal with the only show in town due to no strong alternative to negotiate with."

My subscription to the attributed source had lapsed by the given date, but it's hard to see how, if this news was reported by The Torch, all previous posters on this thread missed it, or missed it being re-reported elsewhere... . Can anyone confirm he's signed?

This isn't meant as a flame on anybody in particular, I guess, but...

...isn't it odd that the fanbase that would seem to know better than anybody that "it's all 'fake'" seems to put more stock in wins and losses than most other wrestling fans?

In the heavy metal world having Jon Zazula of Megaforce Records behind him is a big deal. Maybe Fozzy isn't with a major label but I wouldn't complain about having the backing of the WWE or Megaforce.

Besides, you never know what might happen in a few years.
