I didn't think anything in wrestling could be as funny as HHH dressed as Conan the Destroyer while holding a bottle of Poland Springs, but I saw something that just topped it.

In Ring of Honor, Jimmy Jacobs has a new(ish) angle where he's ridiculously smitten with valet/wrestler Lacey. He's gone so far as professing his love on a video posted on ROHwrestling.com awhile back. Then it evolved into a song he wrote and performed and yes...making a video for said song.

"The Ballad of Lacey"
Streaming Video (ROHVideo.com)
Flash Video (ditto)

"Nobody can compare to us,
No otherrrrs come near
There are no other candidates...
...together...
We're the Match Of The Year"

Maybe it's just me, but I found this to be absolutely hilarious.

I can't think of a sexier sight than Jimmy Jacobs in leopard skin underwear with nipple rings, having sensual foreplay with candle wax and a framed picture of Lacy.

That was beautiful. Match of the year indeed.

That was some funny stuff. I liked the intentionally bad rhymes with "Tracy". (Although it would have been tough to come up with something to rhyme with "Tracy" that didn't sound stupid...) My favorite was "Your the American Beauty...and I'm Kevin Spacey".

However... The two funniest things you ever saw in wrestling were both in the last three days? Does this mean you were just born? Just giving you a hard time... Still, I think "At the Movies with Booker T and Goldust" might be the funniest thing I ever saw in wrestling. "I gots this here sword!" Or maybe my sig...

I was admittedly being half-sarcastic, half-facetious. But still, pretty damn funny IMO.

I personally thought wrestling was at its funniest around the Original DX/Hart Foundation heyday. "I did not sleep with that young intern. We were up! All! Niiiiiiiiiiiight!" And who can forget: "If you wanted to give the United States an enema, you'd stick the hose right here in Pittsburgh!"

No period in history will ever be funnier than Chris Jericho: Conspiracy Victim in WCW circa '98. You haven't laughed until you've seen Jericho trying to get an audience with the President at the White House: "Excuse me, champ, I'm America's role model and I need to see the chief!". DX were doing their best to outdo him on the other channel, but they couldn't even come close.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Your Paragon of Virtue. I was a total WWF mark and I still thought Jericho was the best thing going in wrestling.

I dunno, Steve Austin & Lil' Buddy Kurt Angle came awfully close. Competing for Vince's attention, Steve on guitar, Angle & his little cowboy hat, were all top notch stuff.

To bring it back to topic, Jacobs is now using "The Ballad of Lacey" as his entrance music. You can see it on ROHVideos.com.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

I'm confused, is there anyhting different about the video he is using for his entrance, that you mentioned we can see at ROHVideos.com, and the video Deputy Marshall put a link to when he started the thread?

Ah, I should've been more clear. In ROH Video Recap #3, it shows him entering to the music at a recent show.
