The set-up is pretty cheesy, but you can't go wrong with Timberlake. (And Fallon holds his own, too.)

I might be in the minority, but I'm a Jimmy Fallon fan. I like his show and like how he interacts with the guests and the Roots. Even him not being able to keep a straight face is pretty funny (especially when the Roots try to make him crack up).

Have really been digging Fallon's show for a while now and this was definitely a highlight.

As I was watching this clip for the 2nd time it hit me that there were a couple of what I thought were omissions between "The Humpty Dance" and "Nuthin' But A 'G" Thang" in that they didn't work in "Ice, Ice Baby" and/or "U Can't Touch This" which were two HUGE Rap songs during that period, but hey, I'm sure they only had so much time and maybe they or The Roots weren't big fans of the songs.

Still a great clip and one that's sure to be replayed for quite some time, kudos to all involved.

I got goosebumps everytime they launched into another song--and did it well.

Bravo.

And here's Mr. Fallon himself explaining what else they wanted to get in but couldn't for timing reasons (warning: You have to deal with Billy Bush and Fallon gushing over him) http://tv.gawker.com/5653378/jimmy-fallon-talks-about-the-making-of-the-history-of-rap

Finally got around to this episode on my DVR. I'm a huge huge HUGE Fallon fan (have watched every single episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon), but I don't get all the gushing over this bit. It was good for a couple of chuckles, but that's it. It wasn't all that great. They've done dozens of more memorable things.

I think it's getting all the "internet love" because who would have expected them to do it? What other late night host would have been able to do this and do it that well?

It's almost like a primer for people who haven't watched or maybe weren't fans of Fallon before to give it a second or first look to see what crazy kind of stuff they're missing.

My fave bit is still "Hubble Got'chu" tho.

Boring. Boring, boring, boring. I appreciated the brief cameo from Louise Fletcher. Hearing Kai Winn's voice always creeps me out a little bit. My favorite exchange was: Noah: "I can't believe you told her about your ability!" Claire:
