I hope its just a giant goof that Santino is playing on us all.

I'm sure he has hit many Grand Slams during softball season, so that clue works perfectly for Sid. I would laugh for 32 days straight if Sid came running to the ring with safety scissors. Ortan and HBK are in a program
Trips and Umaga are in a program
Hardy and Kennady might be fudeing over the IC tittle till the rumble
that leaves who Carlito and Santino
as much fun as their promos would be I can't see Santino and Jericho pulling out a good match.

WWE likes to get max mileage out of its top programs, so I'd expect a third Michaels/Orton match after this, but conceivably they could go to Jericho/Orton. Although the problem there is the same as Michaels/Orton: Jericho shouldn't lose in his big return, but Orton has to win or do non-finishes until Wrestlemania. Edge will be back too, I guess that's a possibility. That would be the bestest, but he's got business with Taker and Batista.
I want my Jericho but I think the extended build is going to make this an even bigger deal. Crowds were chanting Y2J in early October; the people who expect him will asplode when they finally get him and the people who have no idea will asplode because holy shit it's Chris Jericho. | kentish

There is little room at the top on Raw, but nothing but opportunity on SD. I know it won't happen, but it would be the best for all involved. A Taker-Jericho would be something we have never seen before.
That being said, it seems his return would have coincided with his book release, but that was 2-3 weeks ago. I just don't think it will be him, maybe he was the original choice, but maybe they hit a snag in negotiations.

They could insert Jericho in a triple threat for the title. If Orton retains, that would allow Michaels and Jericho to feud (and Chris could avenge his WM loss) and move Hunter up to challenge Orton.
Presumably, you'd then add Kennedy, Hardy, Lashley, and Umaga to fill out the higher roster spots.

With every other plausible opponent seemingly tied up with other things I can still see it going that way.
I'm still not even remotely excited about Jericho returning though. It'll take a lot more than that to make me tune in again.

I love that scenario with the Edge tease. Especially if it happens on SD.

A rumour I've heard (can't remember where from, probably Meltzer) is that they're holding off on his return because he only weighs about 200lbs right now and seriously needs to get back into ring shape.

I don't think he can really be all that and a bag of chips again. Jericho is at his best when he is running his mouth while not worrying about who he is pissing off. I can't see him doing that these days.
Why can't it be RVD, the date has been changed a bunch meaning it's probably somebody a little sketchy ...
Edit: The real problem with no WCW is that the business has really lost that big signing or defection. It's one thing to have a guy return after taking a long time off, but it's a whole different feel when he comes in after being on the other show for so long.

Maybe I'm just missing it, but where does the "+1" come from?
Wishful thinking?
I'm still not sure how the "+1" factors in, but I guess it was more than just "wishful thinking" after all ...
Of course, WWE had an "out" before - even though everyone and their mother was speculating that these teasers were for Jericho's return all along, the rumors kind of sprung up "organically"; nothing the company did specifically pointed at this being about Jericho, fans were just assuming.
But NOW, if anyone other than Jericho shows up next week, then the WWE writers are just being a bunch of spiteful bastards ...
(And did they really need to include "BREAK_THE_WALLS" at the end? That almost takes the fun out of it all ... too much information).

Boy those geniuses at WWE Creative really showed us, didn't they?
Did any of the newsletters actually report that they pushed the return back because everyone guessed it was Jericho right away, or was there a more logical reason given?
Now that the suspense is gone, they totally need to screw around with the reveal Monday to make it entertaining. Aside from the chainsaw SS ad, I don't think there's been a word about Edge on TV yet, so that's one way to go. AWA had a great idea to have a parade of retired stars show up to claim the "savior" mantle before Jericho comes out.
Er.. um.. so when can we start bitching about how they aren't booking him properly?
