Was I the only one cheering during Jericho's promo on Smackdown? I was a little surprise the WWF let him point on the huge flaws with Hogan's shot at the title ie he is a has been, he hasn't beaten anyone and HHH shouldn't even be wrestling him. I know Jericho has probably been saving that promo since he left WCW, but why let him do this when he is the heel? He should have saved it when he turned face again and they turned Hogan heel. Of course, that is wishful thinking to turn Hogan back to a heel.

A Fan- Keep on preaching, Chris, I hear you.
I agree that that promo kicked an incredible amount of ass. I don't think Jericho was really "shooting", I just think that he was incorporating the real doubts even Hogan's suporter's --and Hogan himself, I imagine--must have, making the promo much more intense and believable.
I don't think it would have been a better face promo; the best heel promo's are the kind that have a little bit of truth in them, so that a few in the audience agree, but the rest say, "man, that hit close to home--how mean!" Another good example would be Paul's promo on Vince before Survivor Series.

Besides, it was cool to see heel Jericho use the interrupting schtick on a face, like he sed to do to the heels all the time.

I think the Jericho promo worked to help build up what I'm finding a quite intriguing aspect of the Hogan push. Even though he's still a monster in so many ways story wise, he is getting something of a George Foreman push. The question going into this match with Hunter is along the lines of can he summon up one last magical effort, turn back the clock one more time and let Hulkamania pull the years off his body. Really, if the fickle nature of crowd support would allow it and the wrestling weren't going to be so brutal to watch, this would make a great multi-month storyline and be one of the best and most engaging angles they're run in a long time.

That was an AWESOME promo, probably one of the best I've ever seen if not THE best. And I think it had more than a "bit" of truth in it, if you ask me.
The Jericho promo may have been good, but not that good. My favorite part of the whole bit was after Edge came out and helped Hogan, Hogan was doing his "come on bad guys!" stomp through the ring just at the very end. For some reason that little shot brough back a lot of memories and had me smiling. (I haven't seen any of Hogan's actual matches since he turned face so that was cool to see.)

That's what I meant! Sorry for not making it more clear which promo I was talking about.

On Jericho's promo on Rock before the Rumble, did anyone else think the WWF told him they hired the NWO before he went out. There was so much emotion and hatred in his speech, I do wonder if he didn't see Rock, but saw Nash, Hall and Hogan and lost it. If you watch it close, it looks like Rock sensed thats why he came up to entrance way and kinda calmed him down.
Its not unusual for Jericho to see people he hates after a match like at No Mercy when he pointed at the WCW belt while Steph was on the ground, he said he saw Bischoff there for a second and laughed. Even after the match, he dedicated the win to Eric for saying he'll never see that title.
I feel that promo was great, however, it had NO mention of Hogan's keeping people down in WCW, to the point of hurting that organization. Russo's "shoot" was much better, in that regard...
What is really wierd is that Vince owns all copyright of WCW, but never really uses it to add background and history to ANYTHING. Think about it, all that video in the vaults that could be used for almost any feud or angle to give more depth and meaning.
Anyway, with Hogan I've been expecting yet another heel turn/nWo rejoining ever since he turned face...am I the only one who still vehemently hates this guy???
Probably. ;-) Hogan is currently operating under "Triple H Rules", ie. it doesn't matter what he's doing backstage, because right now he's pretty darn entertaining. When he starts sucking actively on TV, THEN I'll hate him again.
