ESPN's Page 2 has a contest for sports babe of the year up between Arizona Pitcher Jennie Finch and Anna K. I don't feel like providing a link, but go and vote, and I think you'll be surprised.

Jennie definately over Anna. Though out of the originals, I probably would've picked Logan Tom or Gabrielle Reece. I think that just means I have a Volleyball fetish or something.

Of course, I've been dating one for 2 years now... (a volleyball player, not a volleyball...)

No matter how obvious the trap, you can't complete the game unless you fall into it.

That'd be kinda painful the other way, I'd think...

I say Meh on the whole thing since my vote for Amy Acuff was in the way small minority. Though I have to wonder what the world is coming to when Katarina Witt can't get more than 3% of such a poll.

I voted for Finch (thank goodness I do Internet from the office so my wife doesn't know about this), she is a cute little thing. Besides, she wins at her sport, dusting Anna. I would have thought that Mia Hamm would have done better (she was on the original voting slate, I think).

Before this poll, I had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA who Jennie Finch was. (Of course, I also would've thought Logan Tom was a man, from the name.) She looks like Trish's niece. (Blonde, blonde, blonde. What's it take for a non-blonde to get the time of day in these polls?)

Then again, I still have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA why so many of my fellow males drool over Kournikova. She's young and blonde, but I could go down to the local high school and find six blondes who look just like her and don't have the personality of a wolverine. I know the guys aren't attracted to her won-loss record.

Kournikova does nothing for me either. Finch is pretty nice though. I don't know about looking like Trish, but she does have a "Baywatch" look about her.

Put me down for not understanding Kournikova appeal either. I like tennis and I think there's a handful of more attractive women on the circuit including top players like Hingis and Pierce. And a few girls that I can't place a name now but when they are on I think are more attractive then Anna.

As for on the list, Finch is attractive, Jamie Salé is a cutie, don't know much about the WNBA but that picture of Sue Bird is good, and very little love for Carin Koch, there's no ways she's the second last attractive person in those photos.

I do wonder how the WWE women wrestlers like Trish, Victoria, Molly (not managers or semi wrestlers) would measure up on the list, I would venture pretty good. The grueling schedule they do and their athleticism, I do consider them as deserving as being named athletes as the women listed. And the girls I mentioned do remind me more of an athletes body then a models body.

Was mentioned Three times, 3X, 3X. In the "Great Wieners" thread!

Mary Pierce? Feh. I do agree with you about Hingis, though, she's a cutie who never gets the props she deserves in that area. Lindsay Davenport is underrated as a babe as well.

Yes to Sue Bird. On the list I also liked Logan Tom and the other basketball player, Jennifer Azzi. Marion Jones too. There was a soccer player named Michelle Phipps, IIRC, who I wasn't familiar with before, but from that pic I'd like to be.

The list could have used some gymnansts, though [eg].

As for Anna, she's overrated because she's overrated, you know? Once she's got the attention, it just sticks. Not that she isn't a babe, it's just that there are plenty of others out there. Everyone usually finds my taste a little off, anyway. and I have no problem with that.

My only knock on the wrestling women is that so many of them have fake boobs, and that turns me off. Molly is right up there, and I've also liked women over the years from the indie ranks (Malea Hosaka, Paisley from the old LPWA, not to be confused with the Nitro Girl) and from WOW (Terri Gold, Ice Cold).

(EDIT: to remove redundancy. I said Sue Bird twice. I like Sue Bird.)

I had a look at the entrants for the first round and ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!? Of all the women in the great big world of sport thats the best they could come up with?

I mean fair play they're all very attractive young ladies but come on, I see better come into the bar most nights.

Of the two finalists definately that Jenny one I've never heard of. A bit 'bottle blonde' for my own personal tastes but I've never been able to look at Anna the same since the Boris Yeltsin comparisons.
