J.R. recently said that Jarrett was an "excellent" talent. And then went on to say. "Jarret is not unwelcome in the WWF. Past experiences are to be left there. If he's ever interested in coming back here, I'm sure we'll be talking."

So what J.R. is saying is that they'd take Jarrett back but that HE is the one that doesn't want to go to the WWF, be on tv, and make more money?

Yeah right J.R., like we're going to believe that.

And even though Jarrett is an excellent talent they have not approached him even though they've approached talentless people like Nash?

J.R., you are full of it.

I agree with you about JR being full of shit, but the reason that they went to Nash is because he *can* bring the ratings. It's not the talent issue

"Kent Brockman here once again at The Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, where a complete evacuation has taken place. Details are sketchy at best, so we've taken what little information we have, added our own theories, and concluded that whatever the likely disaster, it's most likely the work of our former president Richard M Nixon, even though he is rumored dead." -Kent Brockman

Jarrett may be a great talent unlike Nash, but he wouldn't bring the automatic ratings bump like the nWostalgia trip will.

And of course, like WCW so perfectly illustrated, booking to spike the ratings is a foolproof idea, a guaranteed moneymaker! Please, dosen't anyone backstage remember how much of a long and slow process winning back the audience took the last time. It won't happen overnight. They need to pick a few stars and stick with them for awhile, like they did with Austin, Rock, and Foley. The problem is that Vinnie Mac, much like Vinnie Roo before him, is trying to recapture lightning in a bottle. It isn't going to happen.

Yes i know, Jarret isn't the ratings spike that Nash is, that's not really the point of the post. My point is does JR really expect us to believe Jarrett isn't in the WWF because JARRETT doesn't want to be.

I find that hard to believe.

Of course it's hard to believe, but JR can say that now. His argument would be that they want him to come in but he's chosen to be heavily involved with WWA and tour as their champion. (Anyone know what kind of a deal he has with them? Is it per appearence? Is it a long term deal?) Who cares thay they never said they wanted Jarrett until after he started with WWA? As far as public realtions goes, they threw the ball in Jarrett's court, it's not their fault he got caught playing with someone else's balls.
Of course this is all Devil's Advocate. I don't think the WWF has any intention of bringing Jarrett in now or in the near future. He hasn't served his pennance yet. They just want to appear to be interested in good talent for PR reasons and talent relations reason. It's a damn shame too. I miss Double J.

The WWA argument doesn't really hold water, because Vince has never been above stealing away talent on short notice. He did it to the AWA all through the 80's and did it to the NWA a time or two as well. I don't know if Vince is going to try to capture lightning in a bottle again with Nash, Hall and Hogan by going the nWo route. I'm not sure what to hope for or expect here, other than that I damn well better not see Hogan going over anyone cleanly and without returning the favor, unless it's Test or Billy Gunn. In fact, all I want to see from Hogan is him trying to cut a promo, getting interrupted and made to look foolish by Austin, the Rock, Jericho, Flair and Angle, in that order (although not necessarily one right after the other).

If Vince is going to try to recapture the magic, that's just sad. I thought the Vince learned his lesson on recapturing magic when the Luger Express failed miserably and about the importance of moving forward with new faces when Austin, Foley, and the Rock got over on sheer willpower and coolness.

Heck, Vince might just be trying to sign anyone who could help WWA get off the ground.

This is almost as good as that long interview she did a few years ago (shortly before WCW went out of business) where she said she'd never do Playboy.
