STAMFORD, Conn. – In accordance with its Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, WWE has suspended Jeff Hardy for 60 days, for his second violation of the company’s policy.

Jericho winning the IC Title last night makes a lot more sense now.

Aaaawwwww shit. Stupid stupid stupid.

Well that pretty much ended any chance that Jeff ever had at winning the championship belt in the future.

Does his suspension begin now or March 31st? If it's the latter, look for him to take a bump in the Money in the Bank match that "kills" him for two months.

EDIT: I guess if they're advertising the suspension on their website, there won't be a storyline reason for his disappearance.

What an f'n idiot ... here this guy was probably in the midst of the biggest (singles) push of his career and he totally jacks it all up ...

so if he gets one more, he's done, right?

Have to give Vince and Co. credit, they didn't hide this one, especially considering how hot Hardy has been the past few months. This is also why they had to be very gun shy of giving Jeff the top spot after the Rumble. I can't see them giving Jeff a credible singles push again, it just isn't worth the risk.

I would be curious to know the nature of the violation, and the timing of the violation. Not that it in any way would excuse such a dumbass move, but I wonder if the repeated losses, the slow whittling away of his push, and perhaps getting wind of his post-WM plans might have been involved in pushing him to doing something stupid.

What whittling away of his push? He was doing fine as far as I could tell. Constantly named as one of the top contenders, high profile matches (even beating HBK) and such..

He's already been removed from the MitB on WWE.com.

You're not seriously suggesting that WWE would fudge the results of their drug tests to suit their desires and motives, would you? That is a ludricous accusation.

Hey, has anyone seen D.H. Smith lately?

I'm pretty sure he was implying Hardy may have turned to drug use after being upset by his use on the show in recent weeks or months.

So, if Hardy is gone from the Money in the Bank match, who is going to replace him? And how does that change Raw's plans in the near future? Because I was sure the plan was for him to go over in the match and then cash in for a title shot at the next PPV.

Unless they change the rules, that's correct.

If he could be gone for good at any moment, I don't think they can use him like they use before. Jeff seemed to be on pace to main event another PPV this summer and get the world title if things went right. That's not happening now.

Bingo. Especially if somehow the rug was pulled out, or even if he thinks it was pulled out, that's the sort of thing that can send a recovering addict back to their addiction. Now for all I know he might have been doing this for months and just finally got dinged. Just seems like odd timing. Guy is riding high, but then when things start to cycle back down (and FWLIW I don't think he was ever booked to win the MitB match. That briefcase has been Kennedy's to win since the day he got injured last year.) he pops back up on the suspended list. It makes a certain amount of sense.

Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

I for one am curious to see what they caught him with. It's obviously not steroids (one look at his physique tells you all you need to know in that regard), so it's got to be either painkillers or some kind of recreational drug. The former would be along the lines of something he'd been using for a while, while the latter would be more along the lines of BucsFan's suggestion of something he'd turn to in a state of depression after getting the rug pulled out from underneath him twice in consecutive months. Personally, I think it's the pain meds again.

Whichever it is, though, they had to have just gotten the result in the last week. The way they booked Jeff on the Highlight Reel a week ago is not the booking of someone that the company *knows* they're going to be suspending in a week.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

That's a little ignorant and broad. Steroids do not create bulging muscles. Lots of time in the gym working on your upper body does, and steroids give you the capability to recover faster, while HGH aids in the muscle growth. Would you have assumed Ric Flair was on steroids at any given time? He's readily admitted to taking them in the past to better his physique. Depending on what you're taking, they can aid with muscle growth - but that's not the only reason one might take them. I don't think we can "obviously" claim it's not anything.

If it was his first failed test since his '03 firing, then maybe you give Hardy some benefit of the doubt. However, he was suspended last summer, so it just might be that Hardy is a drug addict and, shock of shocks, it isn't Vince McMahon's fault. Blaming Vince is usually the correct way to go on things, but, Hardy does need to take personal responsibility. Best break Jeff has is that anything prior to the institution of the current policy doesn't count, or he'd be out the door now.

I agree and disagree. I can see him getting frustrated that his program with Orton ended the way it did, crisp and clean with no caffeine, when he probably thought he had a real chance of winning. I wouldn't blame him. But it's not like his push disappeared and he turned into a pumpkin. He beat Shawn Michaels clean without reciprocity, he beat everyone's ass in the Elimination Chamber, and he was positioned as the featured player in and I think almost certain winner of the Money in the Bank match. His second loss to Jericho never would've happened if he hadn't failed a drug test. So that's not exactly going from being John Cena to Matt Hardy.

Fact of the matter is that Jeff Hardy is 30, has put his body through hell, is probably in a lot of pain, and has been suspended once before. WWE didn't drive Jeff to drugs by putting Randy Orton over at the Royal Rumble.

I agree, we should not jump to conclusions regarding why he tested positive. Like Flair, Bret admitted to using roids too, and you could never really tell a big difference in his physique.

Even if Jeff was bummed over a so called de-push, he is still an idiot for doing this at the peak of his career, and after the biggest match of his career at The Rumble in January. I really saw no signs of his push being killed (before last night), and firmly believe he was the favorite to take the MITB, and headline another PPV, maybe even SummerSlam.

How about Matt getting his spot and running with it? I believe he deserves it more anyway.

Hasn't Orton been suspended twice?

I expected it to be a great PPV and it wasn't that, but it was very good. Joe-Kazarian was a very good match which Joe mostly dominated. It is a joke that he continues to be jobbed out. Joe was as over as anyone in a normally dead Impact Zone.
