| #21 Posted on 27.8.02 1713.34 | The Code that's run down in The Sham's thoughtfully-provided link is only, like, uh, TWENTY YEARS OLD.
... and even though AIDS awareness has all but eliminated The Code sightings, and despite Jeff's well-crafted sexual ambiguity and the eternal scarves-vs-bandanas debate ....
I just have my doubts that Jeff Hardy's ring attire is referencing an outdated piece of mating symbolism from the West Coast's insular limp-wristed kingdom.
Now about HHH taking his sweet time removing Shawn's belt .... THAT we can talk about.

It doesn't matter to me, nor to the WWE if he IS gay. Keep in mind that one of their most powerful backstage figures (Pat Patterson) is openly homosexual. My issue with him is that he's a lousy wrestler.

| #23 Posted on 27.8.02 2115.32 | | Jeff Hardy's character doesn't strike me as gay. It's definitely not punk in the traditional musical/fashion style definitions. It has pretty obvious raver undertones, (glowing shit, awful bright clothes, frentic spasms often mistaken for dancing) which is not the same as punk. What he does strike me as is "a moron poser." | tarnish

A young male in the public eye who can be considered even slightly effeminate (especially by comparison to his peers) but who is fawned over by an inordinate proportion of the female population is virtually always suspected of being homosexual by insecure alpha-males who can't understand why they're not getting the same attention.
Quick, ever heard a New Kids on the Block are gay rumor? How about Backstreet Boys? N'Sync? Tom Cruise? Just about every Hollywood hunk who's made it big during puberty (before the obligatory ``I'm not a fag'' action-movie role)?
Billy and Chuck, on the other hand, are two large and shapely lads who are obviously simply ``playing roles,'' thereby precluding them from being subject to this kind of licentious stereotyping.
Speculating on Jeff Hardy's sexual preferences seems rather pointless to me. Could it potentially affect how he wrestles? Fuck no. So why care?

Does anything we talk about on Wienerville *really* matter? Geez, we spend our time discussing professional wrestlers, telling our opinions on what we think will or should happen. Oh, and don't forget us complaining about things that we don't like. What's the purpose of any of it?
On a side note, your qustion "On a scale of 1 - 10, does it really matter?" annoys me. It's either redundant or contradictory or some other bad thing. I can't tell for sure. You could just say "Does it [this topic] really matter?" Bringing in a scale serves no purpose, since you don't even give any opinion on where it should be on a hypothetical "importance" scale like that. Just something that bugs me that I have let out.
And by the way, does this post matter? Most certainly not.

You, sir, just held up a gigantic sign saying "Insert Jerry Lawler joke here".
Sorry, I could not help posting that lame one-liner.
And as long as Li'l Jeff Hardy is entertaining me by trying to kill himself in creative ways in the ring, and doesn't injure anyone else, it doesn't matter what he does in his personal life as long as he ain't like mutilating cats or shit. | redsoxnation

8-13? That's way over Lawler's age requirements.

I don't give a crap if he is gay or not unless he was planning do somebody in the ring. But that goes for any superstar... Anyway, since you brought it up... I suspect you are watching the wrong channel... This is WWE, get the F out!

| #31 Posted on 28.8.02 0936.15 | I guess I'm one of the few, the proud ... the people who like Jeff Hardy.
He's one of my favorite guys to watch. His motor runs full tilt all the time. He's not the greatest on the mic but his character seems "real" to me.
And I like the glowing face paint and stuff like that. There's not another current wrestler who looks like that. It's better than having three big tall guys in black leather pants (Taker, Test, Nash, for example). Or any other overdone gear, for that matter.

Well, it IS another example of taking something I have mentioned pretty much constantly for about three months now, and starting a thread which strongly gives me the impression that you never read anything I write...which once again makes me wonder why I bother having a message board in the first place.
(Disclaimer: And *I* heard it from tOA a week even earlier than that.)

| #33 Posted on 28.8.02 1147.12 | Not to backslap, but I think it's cool that we can have a fairly mature discussion about this topic on a wrestling board. I can imagine how sensitively this would be treated on other site.

Well, I'm pretty much 100% sure that it was posted on another thread, but with that flourescent body paint and the blacklight entrance, together with the pounding theme music and the wierd dance moves, he definitely looks more like a raver.

Apparently rhetoric is dead. Same for my assumption on whether or not Jeff Hardy's sexuality matters as much as Booker T's arrest and Bret's relationship with Sunny. | | Pages: Prev 1 2
