I have honestly never seen a TNA PPV and from what I seen on FSN I'm really not that interested. But anyway, all this talk about TNA trying to get a deal with SPIKE after WWE goes back to USA, and now having a "big name" star no show a PPV can't be good for PR. Sure, this isn't the first time Jeff Hardy hasn't shown up, but how can be considered professional wrestling organization and have one of your "big names" not show up for work.
I guess they paid Waltman that 10 grand he felt he was due, since he was at the show waiting to work. Could this have been planned? Why else would they pay him and have him backstage if they didn't know ahead of time Jeff wasn't showing up.
I would not be shocked if the WWE decided to run a Hardy vs. Edge/Lita story and brought back the wrong brother.
May not explain his absence, but if he shows up on RAW next week, don't say I didn't warn you with my completely unsubstantiated, totally made-up prediction.

Well watch RAW tonight and you should see the Edge/Lita team up having Lita turn on Kane. I mean both Edge/Lita are getting huge heel heat because of the Mattitude backlash with the fans so why not use it to team them up together and finally end the whole Lita/Kane marriage angle.
Jeff or Matt showing up in WWE anytime soon is seriously not going to happen.
You won't be shocked to see it because you won't see it, but you thinking the WWE would bring back either of them back tonight or next week or anytime soon...you should be shocked like Kane did to Shane with a car battery

I think it will happen by SummerSlam. Matt at the very least; Jeff only if he can prove he's clean (which is to say, maybe not).
That said, I doubt Jeff Hardy no-showing a TNA PPV has anything to do with a possible WWE contract. Someone on the TNA side would have leaked it out by now to make themselves look good... which they haven't. Maybe WWE would have encouraged a no-show like that five years ago, but today... why?
I don't know, I don't think it's out of the possibility of the Hardys, or atleast Matt coming back this soon. I find it hard to believe that the WWE would run a Lita/Edge angle without Matt being involved, they'd be completely missing out to NOT have Matt a part of the angle. Plus Matt has said in interviews that A) he would be possibly be willing to get back with Lita and B) that if the WWE offered him to come back he would say absolutely. So it's possibly they could've resolved it all. It'd be nice for him to be back in the WWE but it would be a bummer if that Hardy/Daniels match got cancelled, I was looking forward to that.
Now does that have anything to do with Jeff missing TNA? Probably not. But as a TNA fan I could care less if the "Charismatic Engima" never shows up again.
Apparently here in Boston well south of Boston to be exact in Braintree, MA - Matt Hardy is doing a autograph signing at a Jersey Pro Wrestling show this Saturday night 5/21/05. Maybe I will attend and see with the state of Mattitude is up to.

You're sure, are you? If they shoot the angle with Edge and Lita tonight, it greatly increases the odds of him coming back. If they're playing into the chants this far and creating a heel act whose largest purpose is teasing this match for down the road, WWE has no reason not to deliver it, because it's no skin off their back to bring Matt back if there's something in it for them.
I'm sure he'll be back too, but I think right now pairing up 'The Edge' and Lita might be happening just because of 'what else can we do right now?' Nothing with Edge can happen on TV with the fans paying any attention. Wasn't there a run-in done lately during a match where the fans were too busy chanting to notice? Put these two together, the fans will only boo and chant more, and at least you've finally got the heel heat on Edge you've been trying to get for a couple years. Sure they're chanting the completely wrong things from what you'd hope, but at least they're chanting *something* at the guy.
I know that Matt isn't a Bret Hart, but ever since Vince milked that real life fight by making it seem like Bret was coming back to get revenge on him and D-X (but later turned out was just to get some more heat out of the situation), I can't help but have a voice in my head saying that they're only looking at salvaging something out of the circumstance.
Do we really think Matt would come back to do an angle where he feuds with his ex-girl and his ex-best friend, who have joined together as a team? Are you crazy? Why would somebody agree to something like that? That's way too personal to have as a TV angle. It would be a disaster even IF Matt somehow agreed.

Hardcore Holly and Brock Lesnar made an angle of Lesnar's breaking Holly's neck -- and Holly doesn't strike me as the sort of guy who forgives and forgets.
That said, I'm not holding my breath for a Matt return either.

I'm serious.
Except Edge's wife came out about all the steroids use Edge and Lita were supposedly doing. That killed a lot of talk about it being a work.
I could envision Matt coming back, but if I were WWE I would milk the Edge/Lita combo for a few weeks first. Get all you can out of just the idea of them being together first, THEN you throw Matt into the mix. Why sell the steak straight away when the sizzle will work just fine for now?
"Do we really think Matt would come back to do an angle where he feuds with his ex-girl and his ex-best friend, who have joined together as a team?"
yes.
"Are you crazy?"
no.
"Why would somebody agree to something like that?"
to get their job back.
"That's way too personal to have as a TV angle."
and yet it's going to be a TV angle.

disasterpiece! who wants to be mah friend.
"I'm starting to think that the entire thing could've been a work."
nah.

True, but Vince would've sold Shane to gypsies to get Bret Hart to agree to come back and work an angle in the years afterwards, but Bret was the one who always refused to turn it into an angle. It wasn't until they gave up on getting him to do a Montreal-based angle and started talking about a no frills interview instead that he's even started considering doing an appearance.
I don't think Matt will have Bret Hart-like resolve when it comes to turning it into an angle if offered, though that's my intuition because Matt seems like something of a 1) wrestling nerd, 2) internet nerd, 3) guy who would mark out on saying something like 'let's Do Business.' The whole thing has blown up so big that it's essentially an angle already -- and what's better, being in a storyline on WWE TV that they'd make a significant deal out of, or possibly getting to be the King Loser of Shit Kingdom in TNA, if that?
I mean, if I'm wrong I'll be happy to set myself on fire, but if someone thinks there's zero chance of it happening, then I think they're very much misgauging the situation.
I mean, lets face it, anyone who talks wrestling on the internet is pretty lame. His board takes it to a new level. A "fat chick with Photoshop" level.
Oh, and he, himself, whines there quite a bit too.
Hes aleady pouted about the end of Raw tonight.
"I don't know about you guys, but in my opinion, the ending of Raw was tasteless and deplorable. It's literally sickening to see a real life tragedy exploited as a wrestling angle.

Matt"
Thank God no one ever told him what the main event of Wrestlemania 7 was... Or for that matter, a good number of angles both before and since then, leading right up to the return of Hulk Hogan (to kill the evil arabs) a few months ago.

My God, Lawler yells 'Extremely Crappy Wrestling' about 1727 times tonight, and yet this one phrase completely outdid him.
Other than that, I figure Matt's going to be back at some point. Whether they use this as his 'return angle' or not, he's simply too young to try to get a career out of wrestling without having the WWE as an option or even a goal. Bret was pretty much done and could afford to walk away from the business. I know that Matt's not the spring chicken he once was, but still, to decide to stay in wrestling because you want to live in independants until you're 50 doesn't seem like the drive he's been living off of for the last 10 years. It's in his best interest to comeback, and the sooner the better. If that means that he has to forgive Edge (instead of *just* forgiving Lita) at least enough to do business then maybe it's something he's going to have to swallow for his long-term good.
