Maybe he got mugged, maybe he had a heart attack, maybe he has an undiagnosed condition...

But assuming it is what a lot of people are going to assume it probably is, a failure of the wellness policy, this would be strike #3, wouldn't it?

On a side note, I remember Hardy saying in an interview that he never takes elevators. This may explain why he was found in a stairwell.

Or it could just be a work.

WWE.com is reporting that Jeff Hardy was found passsed out in a stairwell last night at the Boston hotel he was staying at and rushed to the emergency room.

It appears this is an angle foir tonight's show and not a legitimate news story but we will update with more details.

Not sure what the point of that would be, but I guess we'll see soon enough.

First thing that crossed my mind. "Heh, that's an appropriate photo for a Jeff Hardy health story."

At first glance I think this is a work, but if it isn't then more details have to come out before anything can really be said. As mentioned before, any number of different things could've caused this outside of 'wellness' stuff.

Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

Please let this be a work as PWI and others are saying.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

Sounding more and more like a work, F4W/WO updated their story, with "several sources" confirming that it's storyline.

I don't recall if they reported this bluntly on Lance Cade before they actually fired him, so that alone makes it seem more work-like. But maybe that's wishful thinking.

Not Jeff Hardy fan? Or just like tragic stories?

I don't like Jeff Hardy. I don't want him to die, of course, but I was hoping he messed up again and would get released for a 3rd strike.

After what has happened with Pillman, Guerrero etc. perhaps someone being found in a hotel and being hospitalized isn't the best thing to do as a work, especially when it involves a wrestler who has had drug problems.

So, out of currosity, when things like this ARE a work, do they actually send the wrestler to spend some time in the hospital with like, a PSP and some stephen king novels?

I'm just wondering, because I know in the old days they'd actually supply ted dibiase with money to blow all around town to keep up a millionare immage, and forbid guys like the wild samoans from using english anywhere near the arena, etc.

That's as unlikely as, say, filing a real arrest report when a wrestler gets "arrested" in the arena by cops.

If you look at it from another angle, it's exactly the best, most convincing, intrigue-pricking thing to do as a work. Maybe morally dubious and not great for image, but still, it reminded me that there's a PPV tonight.

I disagree completely. It's exploitative (yeah yeah it's wrestling, whadja expect?). But if it's not on TV it didn't happen, and the people who hear about the angle before the PPV are the same people who immediately check to see it's a work.

Then it's just like, "Oh ok, wrestling's being stupid again". The only people worked by something like this are the people who only read stuff that comes out of Stamford. Waste of everyone's time, and the only way it shows more contempt for the audience is if the announcers are using the "this is serious" voice.

And yeah, it reminded me that there's a PPV, but at the same moment reminded me why I'm not ordering it.

Would they keep both main events from RR, though? If they go with HHH/Steiner, I say Austin runs in and beats down HHH. Smackdown is more complicated. Team Angle vs. Benoit/Edge/Mysterio? How about the stip that if Team Angle loses, Kurt drops the belt?...
