This might work, though.

Jericho could go back to Smackdown, go on the "Matt Hardy Diet" and take the strap.

If pushed correctly, Christian could be a World title contender in six months. A win over Goldberg might help. What am I saying. Christian will NEVER be the World champ

And no matter how much he was pushed, Jeff would have never been World Champ.

Are we considering the World & WWE Championships as interchangable or what? Because if we're not, we can add the WWE title as well as the Light Heaveyweight title or the U.S. title and make the WWE Octogon championship.

I can't say I didn't see this coming. I really hoped it didn't come to this day. Goldberg's back, big men are gods, Cruiserweight championship has stalemated AGAIN, Booker T get's denied, HHH and the Kliq rule all, Brock's still champ, Cowboy Bebop has ended on Cartoon Network.....now this shit.

Jeff Hardy was let go....

I feel Jeff Hardy on his decision, and can base it on the cliques (No Pun intended) in the RAW lockeroom, him being completly seperate from family, angles and pushes from him starting and stopping awkwardly, not getting rest time, among others more than likely depressed the hell out of him. Jeff's not the kind to make friends easily, If I was in his position I'd want out too.

FUCK THIS PIECE OF SHIT COMPANY! I've tried to watch and support WWE all this time but this is it! Watching WWE use to be a favorite past time of mine until this shit happened. I liked Jeff. He was the pale goth/redneck punk that got me to even watch WWF again back in 1997-98. He stood out like Muta, ECW, or the luchadors when it came to wrestling. He wore crazy looking shit like me and the people I know, and when he was into the match the shit was good to fucking golden. I've haven't been this pissed since ECW and WCW went down.

You can say he was gay if you want to. That all his fans we're pre-teen girls. That he added nothing to the company. That he looked and seemed weird. It actually doesn't matter anymore. You either know the truth, follow the crowd, or don't know all the facts. You can't deny he was money, and had the potential.

Fuck RAW. I think I'll give up on wrestling now.

I saw this right now on Rajah reprinted from the Observer:

- Before being released, Jeff Hardy had approached WWE officials twice in the past six months talking about quitting because he wanted to concentrate on his music. Until the mutual release, WWE wanted him to remain with the company because they felt he was crucial to the teenaged female demographic.

If said story is true, then I doubt we'll be seeing Jeff in TNA anytime soon. I still think in due time he'll get that hunger back and WWE will re-hire him in a heartbeat.

There's the operative word, HAD. I thought even unto last summer that Jeff Hardy was on his way to the main event. He had his match Undertaker, and the WWE actually made me believe, just for a second, that Jeff Hardy might be the next Undisputed Champion.

Even though that was less than a year ago, that time for Jeff is long gone. It's very obvious that he wanted out, and I don't blame the WWE for letting him go, and I can't see where you would either. It's not their fault that Jeff likes to race his bike around his back yard and write poems more than he likes wrestling.

Jeff didn't leave because he missed his family, or because he didn't get along with people backstage. He rarely wrestled house shows. If he really missed Matt, it wouldn't be a big deal for him to travel with the Smackdown gang, every day except for RAWs.

I liked Jeff. I really did. He was a guy who was willing to go out and give and give and give. I don't care what he dressed like or how he acted, all that mattered to me was that he was putting in the EFFORT to make my time worth it. But maybe he gave a little too much, but the effort wasn't there any more. He was doing things because he was contractually obligated to, not because he wanted to. The effort wasn't there. But worst of all, he wasn't even trying to put effort in, and he was quickly becoming a danger to himself and his opponent. Give up if you want, "Fuck" the WWE all you want, but at least understand what it is you're taking them to task for.

I am stunned that there is this much discussion about this subject.

Jeff saved his money, wants to do other stuff, has a girlfriend he cares a lot about, does not want to live the wrestler lifestyle anymore, and wanted to leave. He wanted out and got out. Good for him.

This was Jeff's decision.

No one seems to agree with me on this, but I still maintain I'm right:

The WWE Cruiserweight belt has the lineage of the WCW Cruiserweight belt. There was never even a unification match - they just dropped the Light-Heavyweight title and started focusing on the belt that actually meant something at some point. (For all intents and purposes, X-Pac is still the Light Heavyweight champion.)

Therefore, Chris Jericho *is* the first-ever WWE Hexagon Champion.

I can see WWE cutting their losses and trying to do the best they can to put out a good show, but two many people are gone that I enjoyed. Raven, D'lo, Essa Rios, to name a few. The few left that I enjoy seem stuck in mud on RAW. Smackdown has Benoit, Mattitude, and Rey which is cool but I just lost my interest in watching for now. Now I watch a show I'll I see is politics, infighting, bitterness, and I analyze the show too hard like a, a recapper. It's impossible to enjoy the show now.

NWA is getting interesting so I might just watch that, maybe.

I thought X-Pac and Kidman had a unification match.

X-Pac had the Light-Heavyweight Title when he beat Kidman for his WCW Cruiserweight Title. A few weeks later Kidman won the Cruiserweight title back. And X-Pac had to go out with an injury, and since he was the Light-Heavyweight Champion, it didn't get defended, so WWE just dropped it. And when X-Pac came back he did not have the title and WWE and everyone just moved on. But for some reason WWE would not unifi them. This was also before the ppv where all the titles got unfied together.

I honestly don't believe I'll ever understand how some people think. I know Jeff wasn't exactly hated by the masses, but 5 pages about a guy who didn't care anymore? He impressed me long ago with his big spots and insane stunts, but he wasn't going to improve just the same as he was never going to move up in the hierarchy. And the only person to blame for that is Jeff Hardy.
If the Fed can let him go and save some money, yay! Good riddance and I couldn't care less if he ever rekindles his "love" for the business. There are plenty of hungry young wrestlers who would kill to be in his position and I would much rather watch someone who actually wanted to be there.

What was it before they became collectables?

If you read the Hardy's book, Exist 2 Inspire, you could have seen this coming. Here's a few quotes from Jeff Hardy:

- "But I can't deny that I'm sick and tired of the politics. Of constantly jockeying for position. Of all the infighting and backstabbing that goes on. All the politics makes me have headaches. It makes me throw up. Literally." (Pg. 261)

- "It's pretty clear that I don't care about wrestling as much as most the boys in the locker room." (Pg. 250)

- "People saw I was losing interest in wrestling and getting into music and they immediately thought, That Jeff Hardy. He does drugs. I can't help it if I lost my passion for wrestling.... That was one of the things that started driving me further away from the business. People judging me without even trying to understand me. There was a lot of talk about me, on the Internet and in the locker room, saying that I was lazy, that I was whacked-out on drugs. That really broke my heart becaist it's so far from the truth." (Pg.246)

- "When I quit wrestling altogether, I don't want to be remembered for how many matches I won or lost. I just want people to think, Damn, I loved watching him. (Pg. 262)

Basically, dude was unhappy and troubled for a long time and hopefully this split was amicable enough for Jeff to come back and resume his career. I, for one, enjoyed his matches and wish him well.

Jeff always sold a ton of stuff, update before this one might not have had his stuff up because of the influx of all the new diva desert heat stuff (ie Video/Mag/Posters) that came out, but Jeff has always been very consistent in selling his merch

Right now its 1- Jeff Hardy Pendant, 2-Jeff Hardy Logo T-shirt, 5-Jeff Hardy logo Visor, 9-Jeff Hardy keychain.

*grin* that DOES sound like all his fans are quickly getting them small little items they just hadn't picked up yet. Or is this some sort of protest?

Anyways, good quotes, Ticamo. I read the book a few weeks ago and I realised the guy just didn't feel like it anymore.

Whatever the true reasoning/decision behind the firing might be, I will remember him as the guy that did some amazing (never equalled in WWE) shit, that still had one of the coolest entrances in the fed (love the music still) and that I hope returns some day to once more try and kill himself for our pleasure.

Ticamo, I heard Jeff Hardy in a radio interview a few weeks ago and he talked about a lot of those same things. He said wrestling just didn't mean as much to him as it used to. He said it isn't that he doesn't like it at all but, it just doesn't mean as much to him as it does to Matt. He added that he was more interested in his music and art at the moment. He did say that he wasn't completely ready to give up wrestling but, I guess that either changed or the decision was made for him.

I'm surprised it took this long to happen. I think it's good for both sides. Jeff was getting stale, not to mention his matches were, quite frankly, getting ugly. Maybe WWE was hoping Jeff would take some time off so they wouldn't have to get rid of him. If wrestling doesn't mean much to him, I'd be surprised to see him end up in the Indies or TNA.

Well, I don't intend to go through 97 posts in this topic, especially since most of them will be Jeff bashing, I just wanna drop by with my opinion and say that I will really really miss Jeff. He was always awesome to watch, insane bumpfests or not, and every time he stepped in the ring, I felt what I should be supposed to feel when watching wrestling: entertained. So goodbye Jeff, maybe you will find your motivation again and come back some day. And if you retire, this is the best decision, because you are a month younger than me, but your body must be destroyed all over.

Mattitude in studio for the whole show! Awesome stuff overall. Check it out.
