This really depresses me for some reason. Not sure why... I was never a particularly big fan. I guess just because he was over no matter what he did, which is rare at any time and especially right now. Plus Matt is one of the best things they've got right now and I can't imagine he's too thrilled about this. Bleh. I'll miss him and I think the show will miss him.
The big question for WWE's future: "Will you, Stephanie Marie McMahon, accept the purity of evil and take the Lord of Darkness as your Master and your spouse?"
Who cares? If nothing else, this is good for Jeff. He was going NOWHERE on RAW. Remember a while back that HBK was going to give him the rub? yeah, that died. By the way, thanks for putting over all the young talent like you said you would Shawn!
Jeff looked bored and I don't blame him. He can now go work for the Jarrett's, hone his in ring and mic skills and then come back to the WWE as their next savior in three years at triple what they are paying him now.
Of course, his push would be over inside a month, and he would be right back to where he is now, but hey, it would be fun to watch!
Big brother representative: Now, Mr. Simpson, may I ask why you're here? Homer's Brain: Don't say revenge. Don't say revenge. Homer: Ummm... revenge? Homer's Brain: Okay, that's it. I'm outta here. [Sound FX: step step step step step... slam]
If Jeff Hardy lost the passion to perform in the WWE, what makes you think he'll want to work for TNA for a lot less money? Sure, the work schedule will be easier, but his heart isn't into wrestling, TNA would be better off not signing him.
Matthew: You would've loved it, David. A week in a foreign country, strange people, strange customs... Dave: Oh, I know what you mean. I've been to Canada.
Damnit, damnit, damnit! Honestly, this may be the last straw for me. Jeff was one of my favorite wrestlers and now that he's gone, I have very few reasons left to watch. Rock's leaving, Booker can't catch a break, I'm bored to death by Jericho's heel antics, Austin's off TV, and Goldberg is in the WWE. The worst part about this is that my Jeff Hardy streak will come to an end. I've seen him and no one else wrestle at every single WWE event I've gone to (about a dozen altogether). Guess that'll end on Sunday. *sigh*
Aw man. I know I talk about Jeff's lack of charisma and insane tattoos and stuff all over him. But, I definitely remember all the good stuff he gave us, risking his life and such...
The IC title series with HHH.
Jeff and Matt's feuds with Edge & Christian.
The Conquista-Hardys!
That wierd ooze dripping out of his hands a couple weeks ago.
The Terri Invitational match that became a classic.
Tables! And ladders! And chairs! Oh, my!
Yeah, Jeff gave us an awful lot, and I don't know who he pissed off, but despite the knocks I throw at him, I wish him godspeed in everything he does from here on out, and thanks for everything, buddy. Now wash that slime off your arm.

Maybe being a big fish in a small pond like NWA TNA would rekindle his passion for the business?
Like everyone else, I was caught pretty much offguard. I wasn't really the biggest Jeff Hardy supporter as of late but I still respected him and liked him for everything he's contributed to the wrestling world in the last 3 or 4 years (is it?). The one reason I may be glad though that Jeff's gone is so he can fix himself up. I mean he's done so much to his body thru all these years, he probably should sit down.
here's an update on the situation from 411Mania.com taken from 1popup
It isn't too much of a surprise that WWE announced today it has fired Jeff Hardy. Hardy has had a habit of missing shows on a regular basis. The general feeling has been that Hardy no longer enjoys the grind of being on the road all the time and was getting sick of being a full time wrestler.
WWE had recently cut back his house show schedule, hoping it would rejuvenate him, but it didn't. Last week they removed him from house shows completely, for what was thought to be "personal reasons."
Jeff doesn't have the same passion for the business that his brother, Matt Hardy, has. Jeff has saved much of the money he has earned in the last few years, and doesn't have to wrestle anymore. It will be interesting to see what he does now.
---------------------------
Something tells me he won't be going to TNA. He's probably done with wrestling for the meantime. But I wouldn't be surprised if we see him back maybe a year from now or something. WWE knows he's still marketable and i'm sure Jeff hasn't burned his bridges. I guess Jeff will just be spending his time now on Peroxwhy?gen.
Surprising.....I've never seen so many Jeff Hardy fans in one thread.
Personally I don't really care, aside from the odd spot he didn't bring anything of substance to the table.
Doubt we'll see him in TNA soon, WWE would have made sure he didn't jump ship right away, if at all, for what was the remaining duration of his contract.

Are you kidding? Passion or not, it would be the best investment TNA has ever made. And I'm not even a Jeff Hardy fan. Just him being there would help things out a bit, someone who has a name.
Would it be the best course for Jeff Hardy? Who knows. No one really knows his personal situation and perhaps even one night a week is too much. Who can say for sure, other than him? But from what 1wrestling is reporting, and what has been said before, he has enough money saved up where he doesn't need tons of cash. It would just keep him in the spotlight, albeit a much dimmer one.

Raven said on Wrestling Observer Live that he's making DOUBLE doing Indy's then what he was making for Vince. Not everybody can get that but I'm sure Jeff Hardy can make a healthy living off of doing indy dates when he feels like it.

I'm no fan of his either but you can't deny the man has got a bigger following than anyone wrestling for NWA TNA right now.

Decent livng, yes...but Jeff's merchandise (as was mentioned earlier in this thread) sold a TON. If he got any cut of that (and I assume he did), that loss is going to end up hurting him in the long run. Raven didn't have one piece of merchandise that I know about. (Dammit!)

They didn't sell those "Raven" shopping carts?

It's a shame his skills degraded so much. He was a great talent with piles of potential, but the more paint he put on, the worse he got. I agree, every time he hit the top rope he looked like he could just fall at any time. Hopefully he'll find brighter futures elsewhere in wrestling.
I'm sorry to see Jeff go, but he wasn't really adding anything to the product of late, and he was getting dangerous with all those spots he was blowing.
As for TNA...no. Just, no. It's a terrible idea. Not that he wouldn't make ok money or be the big star, but for all the problems that he was having in the WWE, the best thing for him now would be to stay the hell out of the ring and focus on getting himself together. Build another volcano or start a band, something, anything but forcing himself to do something he doesn't like.
In a few months? Sure. Heck, I pretty much expect him back in the WWE by next year, but I think he needs this right now.

I guess the thing is that, even though I wasn't a Jeff fan per se, he was always there. We literally watched Jeff Hardy grow up, and move up in the federation from a total jobber to a guy who got a huge crowd reaction every time he walked through the curtain. Then one day without any warning, he's gone, and it's either "oh well, looks like he fucked up" or "he sucked anyway." Austin, the biggest star in the fed's history, gets fired? Well, his act was getting old anyway. Then he comes back, and it turns out he's given too much of his body to the sport to be able to wrestle anymore? Oh well, that's a shame but no one really cares. Foley walks out, and I think the Nowinski-Steiner debate got more attention.
Of course, while they're shoving these guys out one door and encouraging us to forget them and/or put them down, they're bringing Piper, Sable, and the Road Warriors in the other door and expecting us to care, which is pretty funny.
I dunno if we were trained into this "what have you done for me lately" attitude or we picked it up ourselves. Whichever it was, I think that's what bugs me. I guess people must really love the football salary cap rules that force teams to release their veteran players To me, though, the players are the franchise, and it's bad enough that the team's had three straight losing years... now on top of that, you're telling me we have to dump the guys who came up through the farm system and we watched mature into major leaguers... so that not only are we a losing team, we're a losing team made up of old guys who are free agent hired guns? (Switched sports there.) Blech.

This could be the best thing that has ever happened to Jeff Hardy- the wrestler. It seemed unlikely that he would be GIVEN extended time off... and he certainly needed it.
Maybe he will lay low for a year or two, heal up, kill the demons... then maybe then if he "finds his smile" he will make his return.
I was a huge Jeff Hardy fan- but I admit that what he was putting out there was not spectacular of late. I think that his termination was not such a bad thing- I just think it was a shame that it had to come to that....
Let me add to the general consensus that this is clearly a good thing for Jeff now, but I hope he decides to return to wrestling in a year or two and silences his doubters. He's still awfully young, and could still fulfill all of his potential if he decides to.
I'm surprised that no-one listing his contributions mentioned his ladder match with the Undertaker. I still consider it my favorite match of 2002.
