Yeah, Bradshaw was part of the New Blackjacks (with Barry Windham), not the Midnight Express.

I wish he was leaving. I can't stand that idiot. Not as a wrestler, not as a promo guy, not as an announcer.

He SUCKED at announcing. SUCKED. If anyone needed to be hit in the face with the "Jesse Ventura Book of How to be an Effective Heel Commentator," it is JBL.

Speaking of which, it's funny how Jesse was really the only "heel" commentator who didn't really lose his own identity. Tazz, sadly, did; as did Lawler (but I guess after 10 years that's to be expected), and so did JBL.

I saw someone earlier say that they could see JBL as a WWE Hall of Famer. Why? In terms of wrestling (because I know someone will bring up the validity of the Fridge or Pete Rose) what did JBL do that was remarkable? He was a mid-card guy who got a lucky main event push.

It seriously irks me to no-end when I see people (especially in the IWC) clamoring to give "HoF" or "Legend" status to anyone OR to someone who just happened to be in wrestling a long time.

People like Hogan, Flair, Andre and Savage are legends because they were special and memorable, mainstream, and drew money (not that those should be the only criteria, but they're very important).

Then again, being a "WWE Legend" is something all-together different. In my view, it's much less than being a "wrestling legend."

It's just a message board, people. Chill out. Now, go show your internet diapproval of me! YEA!

Whew! I went from anguish to joy in one short thread. I can't even comprehend the existence of JBL haters as long as Lawler still has a job. JBL is the new Jesse Ventura.

This sucks! I'll be the first to say that I HATED JBL when he was a wrestler. I just chalk that up to the usual over-exposure that WWE is rather fond of with their champions. I almost boycotted watching Smackdown completely when he replaced Taz as color guy on SD.

JBL has seriously grown on me as an announcer. He's one of the best things on SD. The stuff that comes out of his mouth is just vicious, mean... And so true! I'm really going to miss his commentary. I'm scared to see who they cough up to do color this time.

Everything is going to be okay; JBL is actually apparently not leaving.

Well, let's note that VKM's limo driver is in the Hall of Fame and operate from there. Also, technically JBL has a good kayfabe resume. WWE Champ (with a long reign), "main event" at WM and the other big PPVs, US champ, Tag champ. Member of a long-standing over tag team. "Successful" (in the kayfabe sense) as both a heel and a face, great commentator, good character, long-standing employee with a great rep in the real world (Munich, nonewithstanding). Believe me, this guy can be a WWE lifer if he wants too. I read they're offering him Air McMahon to commute. Says a lot.

You got me. I stated it snidely without looking up his info. That's a great read by the way.

Can I amend my statement to "let's note that Johnny Rodz and Pete Rose are the WWE Hall of Fame, so let's operate from there?"

Well, maybe all the talk of whether or not JBL's a Hall of Famer is premature: He's just signed an extension.

I have no doubt that JBL will be in the Hall of Fame someday. Aside from his JBL character, he had a pretty popular run with Ron Simmons that tends to get overlooked. To this day, the APA vignettes are still some of my favorite.
