Oh my gosh! He is huge! I keeping hearing he's big but yesterday was the first i've watched him play, he's like a whale out there. But everytime he ran it he ran out of bounds, they need to teach him to just run over people. I expected the Wildcats to play us Gators close and they didn't disappoint, although they did get most of their points off of kick returns and turnovers, I don't think they had a single scoring drive of much longer than 30 yards, still they played tough. Too bad they are on probation, they could get the needed amount of wins to make a bowl this year.

Anyway, Lorenzen is huge, but he's still pretty good, and quicker than you would expect. Is he going to get drafted when he graduates or is this one of those cases where nobody will pick him because of his size? (although when talking about size with quarterbacks it's usually about height)

I think he's a junior, so he'll come back for his senior year. He probably would be taken as a 4th-5th rounder if keeps playing well, as a team could always move him into the line if necessary, and a creative coach could come up with some gadget plays.

Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.

I'd be surprised if he makes it in the NFL. He's not quick, even for quarterbacks, and he gassed himself out trying to chase someone down after running about 50 yards. You could just watch the needle hit "E" as the other guy was pulling even further away from him. And the one big QB in the NFL is a guy who has good speed and good moves, both of which Lorenzen lacks. I haven't seen anyone say his arm is incredible or that he's very accurate, so I'm not sure he's got the tools for it. He's more of a college curiosity than a pro prospect.

Well, the other "big" QB hasn't really acquitted himself that well this year, but as evidenced by his career, it may not be all his fault.

Besides, who said Lorenzen couldn't move to another position? (Keep in mind I'd never heard of the guy, other than his name, before reading this thread. I didn't even realize he was a QB until reading Jubuki's post.)

He actually does have a strong arm, and is usually more accurate than he was last Saturday. But he is too big, as in too fat, to be playing on Sunday's. He tires during the game, and usually loses his effectiveness in the fourth quarter simply because he's winded. He's simply is not in good shape, and apparently refuses to get into good shape. That isn't something I would look for in a NFL quarterback.

The big quarterbacks in the NFL are big, but not fat.

Someone will get him. They'll pick him up and try to get him in shape, leave him around for a year or so, then realize he's never going to do it and get rid of him.

And if I had to pick that team, I'd say it'll probably be the Bengals. (sighs) They'll probably waste a 2nd round pick on the guy.

Bah. When it comes to making bad draft picks on college QB's, no one can touch the Rams nowadays.

I wouldnt call John Avery or Jason Peter GOOD picks. But, for the most part, at least 25 of the top picks have had decent careers. Also the third round that year had some good values slip by.
