But he's clearly maneuvering to attempt to get Shaq... Read about it here.So... does Stackhouse help the team, or is it just a case of Cuban attempting to build a fantasy-league team instead of a team that can win a championship? And speaking of winning a championship... anyone think Cuban'll be able to get Shaq? And even if they do, does that trade necessarily push them over the top in the Western Conference? “Once word leaks out that a pirate's gone soft, everyone begins to disobey you, and then it's nothing but work, work, work, all the time.” --Westley, The Princess BrideTwo-Time Wiener of the Day (5/27/02; 7/3/02) Certified RFMC Member-- Ask To See My Credentials! | Promote this thread! | | Grimis

I would presume that this will get done, if it's going to happen, before the draft. But who knows at this point.
God Bless Ronald Reagan, and may he rest in peace...

For decades, American had waged a Cold War, and few believed it could possibly end in our own lifetimes. The president was one of those few. And it was the vision and the will of Ronald Reagan that gave hope to the oppressed, shamed the oppressors and ended an evil empire . . . Ronald Reagan was more than a historic figure. He was a providential man who came along just when our nation and the world most needed him.

Stack gets $7m and would be a terrible fit with Kobe - IMHO.

That's if Kobe comes back, he's opted out of his contract.

I guess it's not a bad deal, if you can get Shaq and keep NOwitzki the Mavs are in pretty good shape, I just had it (if it's true) because I like FInley and can't stand the thought of him wearing a Lakers jersey. I'm not sure if it's true or not though, I thought Finley and Nash were pretty much untouchable to Cuban, but I guess if you had to choose giving up Finley or Nowitzki that you'd want to keep Dirk.
Also, I feel badly for Jamison, he was wasting away in Golden State, he finally gets his chance to play for a good team and ends up on the bench, now he gets his starting job back, but it's for Washington? Ewww. Although it's a good move for Washington, I'd rather build around Jamison than Stackhouse.
And I think it's pretty much a gurantee that Kobe comes back if they find a way to get rid of Shaq.

Actually, I think it's pretty much a given that Nash will NOT be back in Dallas next season.
The Mavs are a good fit for Shaq....well, I guess I should say Shaq is a good fit for the Mavs. With an aging roster, Dallas is in a definite "win now" mode instead of building for the future like a lot of other teams. And with no established "dominator" they need someone like Shaq badly. | Big Bad

If Dallas gets Shaq, they're probably the best to beat in the West (and perhaps the NBA) next year.

Depends on who Dallas has to give up to get Shaq. If its Dirk/Nash going to LA, then Shaq's supporting cast won't be much better than what he had in LA last year.
7:39 -- They go with Howard. Of course they do. He's the third high schooler taken overall in the past four years, as well as the first top pick with braces since Pervis Ellison. Not a good sign. "Praise the Lord!" screams Dwight Howard Sr., who didn't realize that the Lord had Okafor going first in his mock draft.
9:46 -- Yes! Boston takes Delonte West! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Something good happened! He's good! I know he's good! I watched him all year! He's a more unselfish version of Cuttino Mobley! I have an opinion! Woo-hoo! I have an opinion!
