I was reading the Confidential report and forgot about when the lights went out at In Your House Beware of Dog. Can anyone tell me what exactly happened, what happened to the live feed and how were he matches re-shot.

And also, I am sick to death of reading Confidential reports and not having the pleasure of watching it myself cause the people at Sky won't show it in the UK. This is just the programme i would love to tune into every week. I know the ratings aren't great but i am jealous of you Americans.

The power went out in the arena and they went off the air. The show continued in the arena in the dark for about an hour until the feed came back on in time for the Bulldog/Michaels Main Event.

Now this match is pretty infamous because I think Shawn thought they weren't on the air. Hebner tells Shawn to "go home" and Shawn starts throwing a hissy fit in the ring like the unprofessional jackass he was. He was also supposed to be selling a chinlock but was busy yelling at Hebner. Vince on commentary struggled for an explanation. But it doesn't end there. Bulldog goes for a kneelift off the ropes but Shawn runs around him and takes this huge bump out to the floor for no apparent reason. Apparently Shawn was upset because they cut the match short due to the technical problems.

On RAW the next night, they explained the technical problems and on Tuesday night, in place of the replay, they were going to air live with the matches that were missed. So on Tuesday, you got the PPV for free and they redid the three matches that were missed on Sunday. That included probably the greatest Savio Vega match ever with Steve Austin that was so shockingly great. It also had a great finish where Austin threw the match at the end, throwing Savio into the final corner (Strap Match) for the win so he could get rid of Ted Dibiase as his manager.

And that was basically the beginning of the Stone Cold character, as later he did an interview basically admitting he threw the match to get rid of DiBiase's mismanagement. And the rest, as they say, is history. Now, Savio Vega's somewhere in obscurity, and Austin's something of a celebrity, not to mention a multi-time WWF Champion.

He's one of the top heels in Puerto Rico. It's not THAT obscure.

Did the home video release then have a mix of Sundays action and Tuesdays action? And does the video cut some of the stuff Shawn did in the main event.

Haven't seen the official WWE release -- if one even exists -- but I do have it on tape as a Coliseum video (released under the title "Wrestlefest '96"). They do mention the power going out and show a couple seconds of Austin and Vega fighting it out in a ring lit only by emergency illumination before going to the Austin-Vega rematch. And they do show Shawn's little bitchfest and the phantom kneelift -- although that match isn't the main event; the ME is Undertaker vs. Goldust in an IC title casket match. No, I'm not kidding.

"I do have a degree in electrical engineering... from almost 20 years ago. Punchcard systems were just becoming obsolete, we had rotary phones in the dorms, and a modem was still a gizmo the size of a shoebox into which you squooshed the phone receiver itself. In short, we lived like animals.

The instant obsolesence is why I became a writer. The rate of punctuation in a sentence doesn't double every 18 friggin' months, and you never have some 22-year-old looming over your shoulder, shaking his head, saying "dude... you're still using adverbs...?"

Just a little bit of useless information. They actually changed the booking for one of the matches on the rematch, and the content of the other matches changed as well (although the winners of those matches didn't) so it wasn't like they just did a 'replay' for the second showing.

Did anybody get WWF Magazine at that time? They always do a PPV report in the magazine (usually a couple of months after the PPV happens for obvious distribution reasons). And when it was time for the IYH: Beware of Dog PPV report they gave the results of "when the lights turned off" including some grainy photos of the matches with limited light. That was one of the coolest reads in WWF Magazine.

What I find more interesting is the picture *below* the logo - Flair, Undertaker, the nWo... And Kane flashing the Four Horsemen hand signal. Indicator of things to come? Steph
