I would've called you a dirty, rotten liar if you'd have told me Iverson would be a Grizzly at the end of last year. However, his situation seems to be like T.O's in Buffalo; one-year deal for a talented troublemaker, trying to earn a contract for the next year and be a good boy. Somehow, I think Owens will have more success at that than Iverson. Still, there hasn't been much to get excited about as a Grizzlies fan the past few years, and this may get them some national TV time and put some butts in the seats at Fed Ex Forum. Now, off to get me an Iverson jersey....

When the CLIPPERS don't want you, it's a sign that your career's hit rock bottom.

And I don't expect this to last the year. Someone will get desperate at the trade deadline and since Chris Wallace is the NBA's answer to Al Davis, Iverson will end up with a playoff team by the end of the season.

I'm surprised he's on any team at all! It was my prediction all along that he'd go the "Latrell Spreewell route" and just vanish off the face of the earth all together.

But Wallace will include an unprotected #1 as an enticement for the other team's 2nd round pick.

This is the thing though ... he's never choked a coach, and he's never charged the stands to fight fans.

I don't totally blame him for the last three years. The Denver teams made the playoffs, it was just a match that never really made sense. He's just not cut out to be a point guard.

The whole Detroit mess was just setting the guy up to fail. He might not have been the best team player there, but Rip Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace had already quit on that team sometime ago. Wallace has been licking stamps and mailing it in for years, and he is still thought of as a team leader and was coveted by contenders. At least Iverson busts his ass when he is on the floor.

Iverson does have his faults. He's known to be difficult, and has had a problem scaling back his role, but for all these teams to pass on him ... that just seems absurd. The guy can still play and now he has something to prove. Is he the guy for every team? Probably not, but he sure is an odd fit on Memphis. Then again that team could give a crap about anything except for selling tickets at this point anyways.

I'm a little pissed the Knicks didn't give him a one year deal. Why the hell not? He's way better than Nate Robinson even at this stage in his career, he wanted to play there, he wouldn't have screwed up the cap in 2010, he would have been a lot of fun to watch in a D'Antoni offense and the Knicks could have given us something other than the same cast of doofs plus Darko.

At the end of Regulation of the Argentina/Yugoslavia Championship Game, it was nice to see Divac has been spending his summer practicing his free throws (clang/clang).
