Before anyone asks, the way the title is written is intentional.
Notice that if you go to WWE.com or to the Raw and Smackdown subsites, that any (and I do mean, ANY) instance where D & S appear sequentially in the same word, the letters have been replaced with these ugly-looking graphical versions that are obviously meant to serve as an advertisement for the Nintendo DS.
I have a feeling that DiS is going to get annoying very quickly...
That's funny, because as I look at raw.wwe.com right now, I'm getting an add for X-Box, as they are the sponsers for Survivor Series.
And how many different hand-held video game systems is Nintendo going to keep releasing?
Game Boy-1989 Virtual Boy-1995 (I think this counts) Game Boy Pocket-1996 Game Boy Color-1998 Game Boy Advance-Whenever Game Boy Advance SP-Whenever Nintendo DS-Nov. 2004
I love Nintendo, always have, but I think they care more about being popular in Japan than they do in the United States (saw an article that said the DS is the 3rd best seller this month in Japan, even though it hasn't been released yet http://www.joystiq.com/entry/7816036482524569/ ). Gamecube doesn't get any recognition because it doesn't have online capability. I think they seriously messed up by not having it the way PS2 and X-Box do. Some companies aren't even releasing games for Gamecube (all the ESPN 2K5 games, for example).

This is so bizarre, because I'm seeing the D and S capitalized on THIS message board, but nowhere else. My first thought was that I'd picked up a new virus or something.

Originally posted by DEAN~!- Booker T stands like a statue in the ring. Paul London runs around the ring, bouncing off the ropes, jumps up and sticks his knees around Booker T ears and Powerbombs himself. London gets up and takes Booker T's hand and balls it up into a fist. He then extends Booker T's arm before hitting the ropes and smashing nose first into Booker T's fist. Paul, bleeding profusely, climbs onto Booker T's shoulders and dives into the second row- landing shoulder first onto the fixed chairs, getting more hardway color from his quickly sweeling upper lip. London runs into the ring and opens up Booker T's fist and raises it up to his face, as if Booker T was staring into his own hand. London when dives over the turnbuckle face first into the Spanish Announcers table. After the countout, London comes back into the ring and lays Booker T down on the ground while bending Booker's arms and legs and then spins him around. We go to a commercial for those burning Trojan condoms.

That's not why Gamecube doesn't get any recognition. Sony hasn't really gone out of their way to support online play either, including getting rid of the harddrive option to pretty much eliminate any downloadable content or MMORPGs for the current generation. Believe it or not, a majority of gamers out there still A) Don't care about online play, but play single player games and single console multiplayer and/or B) Don't have broadband to be supported by most online gaming.
Gamecube doesn't get respect because it hasn't been able to overcome first its image as the "kids" product in a gaming world dominated by gamers in their late teens/twenties/early thirties and second the idea that Microsoft has very actively pursued that Nintendo is number three when it comes to consoles. We'll see about the DS. PSP is the first real challenge to Nintendo's single handed dominance in the handheld market since Sega. Will Sony be able to do it? Depends on the the games and how the market falls. Nintendo will probably get the kids set (especially with a DS-only Pokemon). Who will buy more portable games? Adults who are with the Playstation brand? Or parents who buy handhelds for the kids? Should be nothing if not interesting.

The Gamecube's controller looks like a toy...which is the main reason I haven't given it a second look. I can't take the system seriously. I mean...a handle at the back? The controller? Come on! I'm sure it's an incredible system to some, but I just can't consider it a serious contender.
Now, if the Nintendo D-something works well as a PDA, I think I'll retire my Palm IIIe.
WHEW!!! I thought it was some kinda wierd virus! Laugh all you want I really did.

I've just never understood this. Have you actually held the controller in your hands and played a game with it? That controller has never once left my hands cramping, and that's something I'm really grateful to Nintendo for.

The only video controller that ever gave me cramps in my hands was the old Genesis controller. I can't say taht I have much experience iwth the GC controller, but looks wise...there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason behind every button on it.
My favorite game series of all time is the Mortal Kombat series, and I cringe when I think of how badly the game would play on that. Or better yet, any of the Street Fighter series.

I haven't played the non-PS2 systems enough to know which ones are better, but I'm glad they're not what they were.

hehehe...try to get your hands on the PS2 "RetroCON" from Mad Katz...it's shaped like the old NES controller, but a little bit of rubber padding. I tried it out at a used game store in Toronto, and my hands cramped up after three or four minutes of using it :-)
Oh, speaking of the DS: I hope to heck it's easier to hold than the SP. The positioning of those buttons and such made it really hard for those with bigger hands (such as myself) to get a handle on.

The craziest person I can think of has his old manager on the RAW roster, and, yes, he's a lunatic... NORMAN THE LUNATIC!!!! But, seriously folks (and, yes, I'll be here all week, and for God's sake, try the veal)
