I feel you. The story is this. The Torch website has its obvious flaws (Powell Powell Powell, Wade talking about NWA TNA, 95% of the guest columns) but all things considered it's one of only two legitimately non-retarded wrestling websites on the ENTIRE INTERNET. I was terribly appalled to see that "OMG look at me, I'm a wrestle-writing internet superstar"-type column not only invade the Torch but become a regular feature. Actually, the Torch at best was Torch Today Pointless Newsbits and Bruce Mitchell Smarky Winky Hinting At Things I Can't Say On The Air (but if you call the hotline/buy the sheet) bits when they didn't have a major story to break.
When they have a major story, they're still good but when there's less and less of WWE stuff and more more NWA/TNA news and (quoting) "amazing Waltman interview via e-mail today with Torch sub", it makes DAVE'S SITE look like an actual content provider.
What is now is a week of discussion about an off hand comment Vince made about ECW, which doesn't really differinate it from Seadawg's Awesome Delphi Forum, and quite frankly [1], the people in the Awesome former are a lot more intersting when they're making fun of such a dumb idea.

Just my opinion but I thought it was a good column. It bashed fellow torch writers who deserved it. I never had much respect for the torch either. I like the idea of the Lounge being like the NWO “Outsiders” who are really the ultimate insiders; but try to play against the powers that be.
I can see how his self-promotion would bother people, but I’ve seen worse wrestling columns “playing to the band.”
