Search like it's 2001! (google.com) (Before the comments start, the January 2001 index was the earliest that could be used. Results all point back to the archived pages, so some may not work)

A quick snapshot of how the world has changed in 7 or so years:

Youtube
2001- 0 results found
2008- 1,030,000,000 results found

September 11
2001- 8,810,000 results found
2008- 408,000,000 results found

Barack Obama
2001- 773
2008- 78,500,000

Search the-w.com in 2008, and this board is the 3rd result. Search CRZ in 2001 and one of our intrepid leaders has 3 of the top 5 results, the other 2 being someone in Russia and information on Corning Municipal Airport. CRZ in 2008 only gets 1 mention on the first page.

This is only going to be up for a couple weeks, but a fun little thing to play around with.

OK, I realize that I'm entering dangerous territory here (the dreaded list post) but I thought this would provide an interesting peek into how, in such a short time frame, people whom we associate with pop culture can go from off the radar to off the charts. So, with the moderators' indulgence, here goes:

"Miley Cyrus"
2001 - 4 results found
2008 - 37,500,000 results found

"Hannah Montana"
2001 - 4 results found
2008 - 22,700,000 results found

"Hilary Duff"
2001 - 176 results found
2008 - 20,300,000 results found

"Sarah Palin"
2001 - 0 results found
2008 - 18,900,000 results found

"Ashley Tisdale"
2001 - 52 results found
2008 - 12,100,000 results found

"Eva Longoria"
2001 - 7 results found
2008 - 11,800,000 results found

"Vanessa Hudgens"
2001 - 0 results found
2008 - 11,800,000 results found

"Carrie Underwood"
2001 - 69 results found
2008 - 9,590,000 results found

"Taylor Swift"
2001 - 46 results found
2008 - 6,790,000 results found

"Rachael Ray"
2001 - 75 results found
2008 - 4,740,000 results found

"Candice Michelle"
2001 - 164 results found
2008 - 2,780,000 results found

"Mickie James"
2001 - 12 results found
2008 - 1,170,000 results found

Finally, because I just had to know:

"Downtown Bookie"

I'm suprised at this one, especially since 2001 was long before she showed up on American Idol (unless there was a different Carrie Underwood back then).
